Edit: Whoops, apologies...I just saw the part of your post that you have already been informed of the NASA rocket possiblity.

Edit again: WOW!! I just saw the video (sorry, I'm a bit slow today). That is by far one of the most interesting and convincing videos i have seen thus far...thank you for actually having a decent camera! I can't believe how clearly the lights can be seen....VERY interesting.

I couldn't help but think of Close Encounters of the Third Kind when the lights were blinking...perhaps, if it is an ET, they are trying to communicate? Maybe some morse code type o' stuffs?

Wow...just wow.

Hi all. This is my first post on ATS. I feel that I need to post here because my father and I saw exactly what is shown on these videos last night! I could have described it to you perfectly without ever seeing the video, but seeing it today online is amazing.

My in-laws own a horse farm just south of Gettysburg, PA and north of Frederick, MD. The area is known mainly for being the home of Camp David and "Site R", which supposeably doesn't exist but everyone who lives there knows how to find. The area above the Catoctin Mountains is restricted airspace and the only thing you ever see flying there are small fighter planes and govt. helicopters.

Anyway, last night around 8:00 pm I noticed a red, white and blue light just over the tree tops to the north of the horse barn. My father told me that he had been watching it for about 10 minutes and that it had originally started out much higher in the sky. As I/we watched, the object slowly, but sometimes eratically rose in the sky until it appeared to be several thousand feet up.

Due to the restricted airspace, airplanes are on a direct flightpath over the farm from the east and then turn south to 1 or both of the D.C. airports. Planes regularly fly in about once every 30 seconds, so seeing lights in the sky is normally no big deal. These lights were different however, and once the object reached what I would believe to be the height of the normal flight path of commercial planes, the lights all turned solid, bright white.

The lights SLOWLY started coming towards us, just like all planes do that are flying into D.C. My first thoughts were that this must be a helicopter 1, because we had watched it hovering and moving vertically for at least 15 minutes, and 2, because it was moving much slower than airplanes do. Normally you can see that airplanes have "headlights" and you can see the beams shining out in front of the plane. These lights were more like stars in that they didn't blink and they didn't project out in any focused direction, they were just bright.

As the 3 lights flew directly overhead some very noticeable things happened. First, we realized that the object made absolutely no noise. Second, the lights didn't blink and were all white. Third, there were no tail lights and as it got closer we saw that there was no tail! Looking directly up from below the object we could see that the object was in fact a triangle. It wasn't that the lights were in the shape of a triangle, you could clearly see the edges of a solid, black object that was darker than the sky above. It was a perfectly formed, black triangle with white lights on the tips that floated slowly overhead and made no noise whatsoever!

This whole event took at least a half hour by the way, just to give you a timeline from when I first noticed the lights above the treetops. Anyway, as the object continued overhead and further south towards D.C. the entire thing began to illuminate itself. It appeared to pulse with it's own light, not from the lights on the wing, but like a pulsing spotlight was shining on it. The entire object glowed and pulsed from the center outwards to the tips. I would guess that it pulsed for maybe 30 seconds, but it's hard to say because the whole thing was so exciting that it seems like it went on forever.

The object continued slowly south, heading directly for D.C. and the last thing we noticed was that 2 more lights appeared on the "back" of the object. On the left side was a green light, and on the right side was a red light. Not to be funny, but thinking back on it it was like the thing had brake lights, 1 green and 1 red. They blinked on and off several times and then it dissapeared over the hillside to the south. It never picked up speed and never once made any sounds.

As we looked in the sky for more objects I noticed at least 4 small aircraft with solid red/blue lights flying HIGH in the sky over the mountains. Up there those are usually fighter jets.

very nice video thank you for sharing, as far as the skeptics go, something that close and that bright you know if it was a plane or a helicopter so as far as i am concerned you have just found your personal proof that we all search for.

i hope that someday i can see something undisputable that i can say "wow now i know for sure"

Looks like a plane to me, I usually ignore anything that blinks.
I saw something similar last night but I immediately recognised it as being a Cessna. I heard the engine only as it already was gone.

It cant be that easy to dupe you ?

If the army , airforce and navy found out that all the effort they put in to camo and stealth could have been just as easily been achieved with some flashing lights they'll be peeved.

Great catch! I'm constantly watching the skies for something like this with no results yet
. I'm no expert but in my opinion its pretty unidentifiable. S&F for you!

First mistake is to discount because it blinks because UFO's have the ability to mimic any of our aircraft if need be.

It wouldn't surprise me if sightings occur in Pittsburg because they do observe everything and with the G20 Summit being on the 24,25 it sounds logical.

Keep the camera's handy especially on the 24,25th.

Not a plane or helicopter...Did you watch till the end of the video?

Nice post slumlord!!! seems to be consistent with whats in the OP's video. In the comments below the video there are a couple more people who report seeing a similar object in the NE area. All around 8-9 oclock. Looks to me like an Unidentified Flying Object. S&F

UFO, yes. Extraterrestrial, I doubt it. I bet it is a man made crafted just didn't know what they were looking at. It seems too man made to be out of this world. Maybe some kind of experimental deal out of wright pat.

I'd like to see some still/captures of these lights posted here. The lights around 1:22 seem as if to alter slightly and that makes me wonder more and for likely comparisons to known air craft lighting.

These types of videos could still be some possible fabrication with balloons etc. There appeared to be some type of rotation, but balloons might also likely do that.

Funny you should say that about the red and green lights, they are reversed as per normal navigation lights.
red, left, port----green, right, starboard.

Welcome to ATS and thank you for sharing your sighting! You are not the only one from PA that's also reporting these strange craft and I'm so glad you did. There is definately something going on. I agree with many other posts on here that these unknown craft can and do mimic our blinking FAA requirement on aircraft. What's funny is all the lights on this craft were strobing rather than blinking and the pattern was so unlike any other craft. There is no noise from this object even though it was at a low altitude. Yet, crickets in the yard and dogs that were houses down could be heard?

Yes, keep a watch out and thanks again

It's very strange to be on the receiving end of people second guessing what you yourself know you saw. I remember telling my father last night that I wouldn't believe me and that I didn't expect that anyone, even family members, would believe us either. I'm just glad that we saw it together so I know that I have at least one person who knows that I'm not crazy.

With that said, I'm so thankful for this website and that people all across the NE saw the same thing that we did. I knew as soon as I woke up and saw CNN reporting missile launches and reports of strange lights that whatever it was must have traveled a long distance and been seen by a good number of people. Thanks for the videos, it was funny seeing my wife's expression when I showed them to her. The videos matched exactly what we described to her and my mother when we got home.

Yes, the strobing lights also reminded me of Close Encounters as well

I can't believe how many people from PA also saw this, I'm trying to find others here in NE Ohio who may have seen them too.

It could be a V22-Osprey training at night. With all those light blinking it's pretty much telling everyone I'm here do not hit me.

I believe it was doing a hovering maneuver at night. Pilots have to get use to flying at night using night vision goggles.

Could it be possibly a blimp?

Check the latest reports over at mufon - there seems to be a number of people reporting seeing a hovering triangle shaped object with 3 lights which seemed to change...Its exciting so many people saw this same object.

Where are you at in Ohio exactly? I am also in Ohio.. very curious as to where you spotted this exactly.

Be In Peace.

EDIT: Hehe, I'm Also in NE Ohio, now I am REALLY curious as to where you are exactly.

I'm with you in looking for terrestrial origins before jumping into the realm of ET operated/manufactured craft. The only thing about the Osprey is that it is notoriously loud. If people are reporting NO noises then I would have to discount the V-22...beautiful aircraft with unheard of maneuvering ability (as far as being fast and also retaining vertical/hovering ability). The twin props are, like I said, notoriously noisy, to the point it can sound like multiple helicopters coming from one V-22. If no noise was reported then the search continues amigo

S & F!!

Never seen anything like this.

Keeps me wondering what it exactly is.

I'm a believer but I also think there are far more 'secret projects' from human origin. To me this object looks like an UFO tho.
