Microsoft Word 2007 "can not find proofing tools"

Hey everyone, I am having an issue with Word 2007. I recently had my hard drive re-formatted and Word was re-installed(but nothing else from the office pack I had), but the spell and grammar check will not work, when I try to use it a box pops up saying "Can not find English proofing tools". I have tried to download any service packs but they did not help. So am I going to need by the 25 dollar English proofing tool set? If so will I need my product key for Word or not? I ask because I do not have it and I do not want to pay 25 dollars for the proof tools if I can not use them or there is another way to get the proofing tools back for free. Come on guys....I know SOMEONE has to know something.

If you still have the installation media I would suggest a reinstall, taking the custom option and making sure you have the spellcheck and proofing tools checked. If you dont have the installation media, see if someone you know has word or office and use their disk for reinstall, just use your serial .
