There is a "electronics recycling" plant on the Eadt side of 51 [the Northbound afternoon parking lot] just North of Sky Harbor [International Airport] ... good plcace to take your electronic sniffer for a thrill ... if you want to explore a Secret Instilation take Central Avenue to the "end" ... see what the "nice folks" say in the guard station at the underground tunnel enterance to the "benign suburban" area on the other side ... if you use binoculars you will see a "water tank" and a concrete lined tunnel hidden 75' beyond ... this is at the center bottom in the suburban area ... you will have to climb to the top of North Mountain from the 7th Street side and take ridge across to get down to the tank ... not a beginers hike ... take small bolt cutters, or klien linemans pliers to get through the chain link fence ... take lots of water ... there may be a shorter uphill route through the neighborhood North on 3rd Street ... I haven't tried that route yet ...
