We are getting everything!
The FBI will be going after them.
Many Acorn members have already been arrested in Florida.
Now we need the IRS to go after them.
Apparently, Acorn CEO still in denial.

She wants to go after Fox and the other messengers.
Shoot the messenger!

News Flash: It's over. Reform....reform...reform.....get George
Soros on the phone and ask him for a bailout.

Breaking News, from the wires...

An ACORN employee in San Diego who gave human-smuggling advice to an undercover pimp and prostitute has been fired, KGTV reports.

BOTH the House & the Senate have voted to DEFUND ACORN!!!

Unfortunately there were still a few crooks in office who actually voted to keep ACORN's money flowing.

Now... WILL OBAMA sign the bill into law?

Also, Mike Johanns is pushing the defunding of ACORN in the Senate. He has two more amendments to introduce. One defunds ACORN from interior and environmental bills, the other is blanket ban on any Federal money going to ACORN. He's forcing floor votes rather than accepting unanimous consent to get everyone on record.

TWO PEOPLE made this difference!!!!

NEVER AGAIN BELIEVE THAT IT CAN'T BE DONE

Well said, piddles!!

For those who believe everything you see and hear on Faux news, how do you know that any of the persons involved are bona fide ACORN employees rather than Faux news setups? I'm not saying they are or are not. But you don't know. You just see a $3,000 video and take it at face value. If some of these people are bona fide ACORN employees, how do you make the illogical leap that the bad acts of a small number of lower level employees taint the entire organization? Your bias is showing.

Because the Original party behind this was Andrew Breitbart, a former Drudge Report TOP Journalist. The originating website is www.biggovernment.com

That site released it & it made waves over the internets BEFORE FOX News ever reported on it.

ANd for the record, O'Keefe & Giles (the undercover investigative journalists) say it only cost the $1300 for equipment & all to make the videos.

The lady in the 4th video, the one who, on tape, claims to have shot her ex husband is a LEAD FIELD ORGANIZER according to her LinkedIn page.

I wouldn't consider that a low level person.

Why are you so outraged about HOW this came out, rather than the reality that FIVE different ACORN offices in FIVE DIFFERENT CITIES were willing to aid and abet an illegal child prostitution ring?

The house and senate still need to find common ground on the 2 bills, one is house the other is senate... I don't think it goes to the President just yet..

Correct me if I am wrong.. please.. I want this signed as well I just think it is going to be a few before it reaches the Oval office.

The House tacked the defund ACORN provision to the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act.(HR3221)

The Senate tacked it in as an amendment by Sen Johanns to the Transportation Appropriations Bill (H.R. 3288) Which had already passed the House, yes it will revert back to the house for consensus approval due to the amendment.

ACORN's National Offices are right here in my hometown, New Orleans. Our Governor, Bobby Jindal signed an executive order today that stops ALL funding to ACORN

Looks like ACORN's nut is roasting hotter than a chestnut at Christmas

Yea it doesn't seem as if there is a line that ACORN won't cross. At first I thought ACORN was a typical run of the mill community action group, but from these videos it seems like a corrupt con game.

These people should do hard time, and yes I do believe that RICO statutes would apply.

The way these people at ACORN acted, it made it seem as if this wasn't the first time this sort of thing came up.

That CEO for ACORN does ACORN no favors.

What is she going to sue Fox for, reporting the news? Nice. Like Fox is the only news agency that didn't get every story perfect.

When did fact-checking and news reporting marry each other??? If, like me, anyone has ever had the displeasure of dealing with the media, you already know they report very little of the whole story and what very little they do report is usually way off base.

News became entertainment before Ted Turner invented CNN.

But, back to the ACORN CEO; does she even have an attorney? Any attorney worth used snot would tell her to stay away from the media.

As for the independent film makers committing a crime goes, they get to decide if it's by judge or jury. Good luck finding a jury, given the evidence, that is going to send those two up the creek.

They scored "gotchas" at EVERY location. Some media-seeking attorney will adopt those two for free.

ACORN will have to settle for a sleazeball lawyer.

Maybe this lady doesn't get it. She's about to get sued by 50 states! Unless she has something on Obama.

If she has something on him or anyone else in DC, it could be the Democrats watergate. Time will tell.

What's the ole saying about sleeping with wolves?

People are pushing ACORN under the bus like it's become a sport. If all the CEO has is a phantom lawsuit against Fox and those two film makers, she has more problems then "Teresa."

I can hear the Acorn lawyers already.
"We can't win. It's over."
Acorn is folding like a house of cards.
The Acorn Public Relations officers are probably drunk on whiskey.
----------------------------------------------------------------
James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles are making history.
I hope Fox News hires them both.

this is perfect timing.
and again another distraction to keep us occupied when we need to focus on bigger issues [h1n1 , nuclear arms race, the current cold war, space/ufos, dead execs, dead scientist, cloud computing ] .

this ACORN business is but a diversion. i smell disinfo, i smell blackmail. this was a very carefully planned infiltration mission, this wasnt journalism, whom ever was investigating acorn used those 2 journalists as tools and pawns to bring their investigation to the public.
when was the last time we saw "investigative" journalism in the past 5 years? never [and from fox, of all the networks?]...
this is more than what it seems. they just needed something to keep MSM outlets busy for a little bit while bigger things are under way.
brainwash us just a little more. get us to lean a little more in their direction...
wake up people.

and those ACORN douche bags should all be fired, and yes, they should stop the funding for acorn.

but thats not the point here, the point is how long they will drag this; this controversy will last as long as they need it to last in order for more serious and secretive laws and agreements are passed in congress or between other nations. -- then 2 months or so later, we will hear that a secret bill was passed right under our noses. [a bill about something even more drastic, like an involuntary vaccination bill for H1N1 ] wake up people...

while our guards are down and our backs turned from real issues, they're doing what they really intended to do. you see how easy it is to control us?
all they have to do is create a controversy [gay marriage, gun laws, health care, and oh yea, a new movie every week at the theaters. ]
my 2cents.

It would be political suicide to not sign that bill. At any rate, the measure will pass with or without the President. The House and Senate both have the 2/3 vote needed to cancel out any Presidential veto.

He should sign it, your right, it would be political suicide not to distance himself from ACORN. Fact of the matter is, this in damaging to Obama more than anyone knows. In the next election I guarantee that ACORN will be a prime talking point for any candidate against Obama.

ACORN's actions are without a doubt the first time I have seen a legitimate chink in the president's Teflon coating. Obama would be not only wise to distance himself from this group but come out publicly and denounce their actions.

Anything less and the president risks a serious scandal that may even cost him the next election. A first term president must always remember his legacy and ensure it by not being marred down by a scandal such as this one.

Obama mus not only distance himself from ACORN, but he must lead the fight to dismantle and make sure that ACORN receives as much scrutiny as possible with him at the forefront.

Obama in order to save his political career as president has to come down on ACORN hard. To not look shocked and dismayed at the actions of ACORN staff would be terrible for the president and a death blow to any hope he would have for a second term.

OH! Can we see that signing ceremony at the White House to Defund Acorn ?
I want to see Obama hand out those pens.

I have no dobt that Obama will throw ACORN under the bus to protect himself, the only question is, is it already too late?

Could the President's "sanitation team" have moved fast enough to sanitize any documents that at least 3 states are already demanding?

Looking at the top ranking Dems, only 1 I can find that doesn't have obvious ties to ACORN, and that's Hillary Clinton.

Now that's just scary

Yup,

And she is probably the only Democrat giddy about the ACORN scandal.

Looks like she won't have to wait until 2016. If waiting that long was even in her plan.

Let me go ahead and put this out there. Hilary will win the democratic nomination BY A LANDSLIDE. If the Republicans want to win in 2012, maybe they should donate to Obama. Weird, huh?

But I'm drifting. This is really a post for another thread.

sorry....

edit to add: I am assuming the US will still be in business in 2012. In it's current form. hmph

Obama on ACORN: 'Not Something I've Followed Closely' Won't Commit to Cut Federal Funds
September 20, 2009 9:00 AM

It was one of the most popular topics among the questions you submitted to me for my interview with President Obama – the controversy involving ACORN.

While the President said that ACORN "deserves to be investigated" in light of the "inappropriate" video that's gone viral, he did not endorse recent votes in Congress to cut off federal funding for the community group.

Here’s our FULL exchange:

STEPHANOPOULOS: How about the funding for ACORN?

OBAMA: You know, if -- frankly, it's not really something I've followed closely. I didn't even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Both the Senate and the House have voted to cut it off.

OBAMA: You know, what I know is, is that what I saw on that video was certainly inappropriate and deserves to be investigated.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So you're not committing to -- to cut off the federal funding?

OBAMA: George, this is not the biggest issue facing the country. It's not something I'm paying a lot of attention to.

He must really think we are all complete idiots if we are to believe he isn't following this story closely.

I think that really is the problem. He does think we are a bunch of complete idiots, and powerless idiots at that. He acts blatantly against the interests of the country. He looks us in the eye via the TV camera and lies. Yes, all presidents have done it but no one with so little attept to hide it as this president.
