Why do People who Ridicule Conspiracy Threorists Hang out in 911 Forums and on ATS?

Never before have I come across a group as self-righteous, humorless, and judgemental as the 9/11 truth movement. Well maybe in the religious forums but they have their own problems. And I agree with you. I speak to a lot of people about this subject. Many of them are very receptive to the idea of a conspiracy/coverup etc. But I never send them to ATS for info. Man you guys have never left the sandbox. "This guy's picking on me, I'm telling my mom" Get a backbone. It seems every post begins with some long winded diatribe/treatise on why the poster is right and everyone else is an idiot. Try letting the facts speak for themselves. The funny thing is I agree with what you say but not your methods. Someone else used the phrase "you are either with us or you are against us". Didn't make me want to be his friend. I guess it's time for a ATS patriot act. Or a loyalty oath. If ATS is a microcosm of America then there is no game to win. We have already lost. Ju7st quit whining. Rise above

Very good post.

I have been coming to ATS for years but I do not consider myself a CT.

On the other hand I understand that "conspiracies" have been a standard operating mode of human history, from the assassination of Julius Caesar to the Reichstag Fire.

That does not believe I believe every "conspiracy theory" that comes down the pike.

I am here gathering information from a wide variety of sources, in order to make up my own mind.

I consider myself both "open minded" and a "skeptic" - and plan to keep it that way.

I think that attitude comes from the fact that after reviewing the evidence some people feel really embarrassed and ashamed of how easily the American public was tricked.

It is difficult to respect apathy and ignorance to science over such an important issue.

Why do people who believe there was a 9/11 conspiracy take their message to the streets in public protest?

Because these people believe they have the truth and those who don't would benefit from hearing their message.

If you accept that premise, why doesn't it work the other way?

How can you stand up and demand the world take notice of your open disagreement and then condemn anyone who wants to openly disagree with you, regardless of the location of medium?

Ridiculous ideas deserve ridicule, ie; holographic planes, energy weapons, miniature nuclear weapons, etc. etc. Ridicule and marginalization is how society weeds poor ideas out of it's collective consciousness so that good ideas can take center stage.

Hey!Don't lump mini nukes in with holographic planes.Mini nukes neatly explains a thing no one else has.How when alla that concrete and a lot of steel was actually vaporized there was all the paper unburned that covered the ground.A fire hot enough to vape tons of steel ought to have burned the paper too.PS there was also high radiation at the pentacon.Like from a DU penetrator missile.

The reason being that people by their very nature like to argue and bend peoples opinions to their own. I go by a rule on ATS that I do not comment unless I can add something to the forum or defend someones opinion if it is being attacked by a troll.
If something doesnt interest me or I disagree with the topic then I do not come on and slag people for believing otherwise. I think that ATS is a fantastic site however like the rest of the internet has its fair share of narrow minded trolls that bring nothing to the party, I just block them as arguing with them is pointless.

Why do we just buy cans of fly spray and kill flies, why don't we just sit down and tell them we are unhappy with them landing in our food and pissing us off?

this is a fantastic question that kinda borders being rhetorical.

though I agree that these people have an agenda when they make their pitiful replies (the uninformed responses, not the skeptics people who seek the truth), I don't know if I can really believe there are actual disinformation agents posting on here.

there are people who are totally stupid and have nothing to do all day, you know. have you considered how available the internet is?

The reason does not need to be as nefarious as you put it. I visit ATS for the Alien and UFO stories, but stay for the end of the world conspiracy theories. Meanwhile I find it stimulating and amusing to read threads such as "Creationism versus evolution" and stuff like that, because I happen to have an opinion about it, surely an opinion that displeases about half the people on that thread.

It would not surprise me that some of the people who bash your pet conspiracy theory have their own theories that they come here to read about, and other people disagree with.

They have different views that they feel compelled to constantly RAM down everyone’s throats. Most truthers consider themselves smarter then the rest of us “sheeple”, and pride themselves on pointing this out to everyone on a constant basis. If you refuse to accept the truthers view, you’re attacked, ridiculed, mocked, insulted, harassed, etc. Most truthers I have met, truly grind EVERYONE the wrong way.

Sounds like it the other way round to me, don’t you think. The uninformed, minds of 911 cannot not cope with the idea that our government might be involved in creating a false flag operation. Only a fool would think our government is not capable of pulling off a false flag and blaming it on a foreign country.

I believe that this was a truther creation, and not a fact, but I could be wrong. I have stayed out of the 911 debate for quite awhile due to truth movement tactics in these threads.

Here is absolutely proof that you have not researched 911 and the proof that you are uninformed, however you take great pleasure in insulting people who have tried give you the truth. It is people like you who are frighten to death to open your eyes and look at the FACTS, instead it is easier to ridiculed and spread lies and hurt the very people who are trying to show you the real evidences. Most OS believers know this information and they do not like to debate it because, it shows our vice president may have deliberately allowed the pentagon to be hit.

The real truth seekers are not out to trick anyone, it is the msm and politicians who have tricked the American public. The "twoofers" are simply trying to find the truth.

I can say the same to people who believe in the gov fairytales! Looks to me the pot calling the kettle. We are just as tired of the OS believers RAMMING it down our throats.
It is, some people who believe in the OS who think they are smarter than us, you call us tin foil hats delusional, in denial, unpatriotic, traitors, and the list of names go on and on. It is people who are to scared, to even look at the real evidences it is some these people who cling to a the OS fairytale because it makes them feel safe. It is easier to mock people who present the Truth. It is some of you OS believers who play TAG- TEAM and gang up on one Truther until you can provoke him, or her to get warning or even get banned.

Why do people who ridicule, conspiracy Theorists hang out in the 911 forums on ATS
My opinion there are several:

1. They are in denial of the truth and are angry that there might be a possibility that the Truther is presenting creditable evidences, or facts that the OS is a fraud, and it is so hard for certain posters to handle the truth that it is better to ridicule and call names to the messenger than to do their own research and if they did they would find the same creditable scientific facts, as we did. But, it still would rather stay in denial because, the truth is to unbearable to believe in.

2. In my opinion some posters come in these 911 threads to play mind games, because 911 is an emotional subject I have notices some posters take great pleasure in just ridiculing you because of your beliefs even though most posters on that particular thread support your beliefs.

3. Then there is the dissinfo artist who loves to spin the truth into a lies and enjoy ridiculing you, just because they can. One posters told me the truth is not important to him that it is not what they are in here for, in fact this was told to me today by a poster who clearly stated that he comes in here because he doesn’t like conspiracy theorist because they CRAM lies down everyone throat, yes Sir! So he come in here to ridicule them and I have seen his handy work and let me tell you, this guy really knows how to walk the fine line of not getting banned from ATS.

I find it nearly imposable to debate anything on 911 in most 911 threads; due to the on going personal attacks and the constant games that are played on the posters who show creditable sources for their hard work. Many of these posters who are playing these emotional baiting for a fight game, and will never answer your questions, or even post sources most of the time. I assume they must have some serious issues with 911.
That is why I see so many good posters leave the 911 forum.

I come to ATS for many many interesting topics, not the least of which are the ones that inspired my avatar and nickname here, the space exploration forums. I try to avoid the 9/11 threads, when I first started coming to ATS I checked out a few, stated just how ridiculous the theories are, tried posting fact as opposed to the fiction that runs rampant on the 9/11 threads, it doesn't matter, when someone believes that they know the 'real story' there is not any amount of truth that will bring them back to fact, reality and senses. So I try to avoid those menial threads and enjoy the ones I am here for. Ironically I have found myself on 2 threads relating to 9/11 tonight, first a new thread, claiming NO ONE DIED on 9/11, and then this thread. Go figure.
