You seem to talk about nuclear weapons as if they are like candy - well Israel has some, so Iran should have some.

If you can't understand that Iran has publically stated its desire to "wipe Israel off the map", that it is a world recognized state sponsor of terrorism, and that it indoctrinates its children with hate when they are forced to chant "death to America" on their first day of school at age 5 - then you're not even close to understanding the world's opposition to the Iranian possession of nuclear materials, let alone nuclear weapons.

Iran will possess the bomb one day soon, I believe that - and the consequences will not make Iran safer, and it will certainly not make the rest of the western world safer.

Your a dispicable liar,he never said that

We all know the truth can never get in the way of a good piece of fear and war mongering for some people.Im sure John matrix has already been corrected numerous times on the wipe off the map statement yet will continue to regurgitate it for reasons unknown. It's a common problem among a certain sect of ATS.As for this,well...obviously they are going to protect themselves if a certain country/countries decide to strike their nuclear facilities.I thought that was the standard procedure.

As usual, anyone who questions Israels intentions, whether history based ie the atrocities in Gaza, or in this case, the undeniable hypocracy of a nation threatening another because they dare to have the same rights to nuclear weapons, is labeled as an Israel hater. That my Israeli supporters is wearing so thin that you can see through it.

Personally I hate....no I detest the atrocities commited against those children in Gaza. If that in anyones eyes makes me an Israeli hater, then so be it.

People need to stop being so one sided on this issue, yes I agree any act of war where innocent lives are lost, is horrible, but why don't you have the same attitude towards Hamas firing rockets into neighbourhoods in Israel where inoccent civilians get injured or killed? And don't think for one second that if the roles were reversed and it was Hamas in a position where they had superior weaponry and a more organised military that they wouldn't drive Israel into the sea!

Hamas is totally irresponsible when they shoot their rockets from residential areas, knowing full well they are risking the lives of their friends and family by instigating a military response from Israel.

Also some of those other arab nations have huge land areas, why don't they give up a bit of their land so that palestine can form a nation? would solve alot of problems, but the reality is that they don't care for the palestinian people, they are just happy to use them as an excuse to demonize israel.

Please take your blinkers off and read this slowly....Iran has never stated that Israel should be wiped off anything. Stop following your own biased propoganda and show me any source, absalutly any source that states that was what was said.

Maybe on looking for the source you might actually stumble on to the true words spoken and the correct translation, and maybe just maybe have your eyes opened. I hope so.

The point is this:

- Are you a Sri Lanka hater?
- How about a Pakistan hater?
- Are you a USA hater?
- Or a UK hater?

All those countries have hurt, killed and displaced far more civilians in the course of defending the free world over the last few years than Israel has in its entire existence. Sometimes for causes that are not easily explained or understood, for example Iraq and Afghanistan, whereas Israel's actions are pretty easily understood unless you're purposefully blind to it.

Don't you ever wonder why the media doesn't bombard you with images of those dying and injured children? Do you think that Gaza is the only place that has children in the line of fire?

Yes civilian deaths are awful, and believe me it was more terrible for people that supported Israel because we live with those deaths on our conscience. You took the easy option of jumping on the anti-Israel bandwagon which soothes your conscience, but that doesn't mean you're right.

Children and uninvolved civilians die in every war. That's the nature of warfare. When you find your opinion about the justness of that war being swayed by images of dead children, you're being played. One has to wonder, who's calling the tunes?

Israel is the only Nuclear armed state in the Middleeast and they want it to be like that

Israel is going to be the cause of WW3

there is a Zionist Plan ...and its on the move

That sums up perfectly the lines of thought I'm thinking along at the minute.

Can't have one set of rules for one and one for another when they're both as bad as each other.

Makes no sense for Israel to have nuclear capabilities and Iran who will be allowing inspections on their energy facilities are being met with such opposition.

To the poster who said Israel are the only state in the Middle East we can trust with nuclear capability - can anyone be trusted with it?? So far America have been the only ones to use them yet they, along with Israel, seem to think they can police the world?

Surrounding Arab countries tried to invade and destroy Israel in 1948, 1967, and 1973, not to mention the countless proxy wars initiated against Israel by the same regimes.

Israel has fought a battle for its very existence and for the survival of its population since Jewish refugees first started arriving there.

The fact that they have never even threatened the use of nuclear weaponry tells me that they're pretty trustworthy.

I'm afraid your very wrong on the part that Israel has never threated to use Nukes...

Israeli Prof - Israel 'Can Take
The World Down With Us'

The following quote is from remarks made in January, 2003 and published in the promient Dutch publication 'Elsevier' Magazine. Much has progressed for the Israeli military since 2003 and the subject of its Bioweapons capability is not even addressed directly.

(Prof Creveld) "Let me quote General Moshe Dayan: "Israel must be like a mad dog, too dangerous to bother." I consider it all hopeless at this point. We shall have to try to prevent things from coming to that, if at all possible. Our armed forces, however, are not the thirtieth strongest in the world, but rather the second or third. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen, before Israel goes under."

2005 - AFP: EU military attaches walk out at Iran parade

September 22 - EU military attaches walked out in protest at a parade in Tehran Thursday after ballistic missiles were rolled past carrying vitriolic anti-US and Israeli slogans, diplomats told AFP.

"There was a common position among the European Union members that, if the military parade included any slogans that attacked our allies, we would leave," said a diplomat.

"The military attaches from the embassies of France, Italy, Greece and Poland were present at the parade, and when they saw the slogans they promptly left," said another diplomat.

At the parade, Iran showed off six of its Shahab-3 medium-range ballistic missiles sporting banners reading "Death to America", "We will crush America under our feet", "Death to Israel" and "Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth".

"They may be just slogans, but for us they are unacceptable," one of the diplomats said.

The military event was held just south of Tehran to mark the start of "Sacred Defence Week", dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of Iranians killed after the forces of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein invaded in It also coincided with mounting tensions between Iran and the EU over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

2008 - ATS: Iran touts "Israel should be eliminated from the universe"

Sunday's parade marked the start in 1980 of Iran's ruinous eight-year war with neighboring Iraq.

During the parade, state television showed various types of Iranian-made missiles, including Shahab-3 and Ghadr. Also taking part in the parade was a military truck that carried a huge banner saying "Israel should be eliminated from the universe" in both English and Farsi.

His exact words are subject to debate about the translation. But the gist of it was and remains that he wants to attack Israel. The difference of opinion hangs on whether he says he wants to eliminate each and every Jew or just invade and kill enough of them to keep them quiet so that he can install his own regime and subjugate them.

I don't know which one he really meant, but I sure as hell don't want that guy to have nukes. Ever. Period.

Matt, if I ever tell you that I'd like you and your own 'wiped from pages of time,' or whatever, then you have my permission to 'erase' me before I can 'erase' you, should you see fit.

To hell with 'proportionality,' too.

Finish the job.
