WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama had just started a spirited defense of his economic stimulus plan on Monday when one of his teleprompter screens came loose, crashed to the floor and shattered into pieces.

The gadget's fall surprised Obama, who uses a teleprompter during most speeches and even brief remarks. The glass plate displaying his speech hit the floor in the auditorium of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, a massive building within the White House compound.

"Oh, goodness," Obama said. "Sorry about that, guys."

Hmm, is this a sign from god?

There is some irony here, made me chuckle with him being so dependant on these things.

Has Mr. Obama named his "Teleprompter Czar" yet? This position is just as important as the "Green Jobs Czar" yet we rarely hear anything about it.

Did he continue giving his schpiel or did he have to stop and wait for a new teleprompter? A few times hes started responding to a question, only to have his teleprompter go out and suddenly he has no idea what to say. Something about that bothers me. Its like we're not hearing what he thinks, but rather what his teleprompter tells him to say.
