The truly scary trend is schools advocation of medication. If a child shows any types of "behavior issues"(usually the questioning of authority), they are immediately singled out, put into special ed (most schools have some variation of the department I work in, called the behavioral learning center).

Most of these kids have absolutely the worst homelives imaginable, from multiple abusive homes to being bounced around foster families to straight up abandonment, and the school's solution is to assign them to a district psychologist who works with THOUSANDS (literally) of students, who spends 15 or so minutes with them, and then suggests medication.

Just sad.

Thank you for writing that. We need more parents to be aware of what the public schooling system is really like. The sad thing is, a lot of parents don't care. It seems like public school serves more as a babysitter to them. And as a brainwashing program for the government.

I'm sorry to those of you who are teachers and do not feel this way. My sister-in-law is a kindergarden teacher, and I know she would be horrified at my opinions.

My daughter turns 5 in 9 months. I'm definitely doing the research about home school. Oh, and I've also learned that you can enroll your kids in public school where they learn over the internet!! It's just like online college classes, but for grades K-12.

I just recently started looking for such classes. Sadly, thus far, I have been told that my state has no such programs. I'm still searching.

My nieces and nephews are enrolled through there right now, and it is wonderful! They are learning really amazing things! They also have the ability to take their education into their own hands, and set goals for themselves.

I LOVE this program.

during my elementary days (mind you, only 6 years ago)
i got two recesses and they were longer than 30 min
maybe it just varies from school to school.
but it doesnt sound like boot camp. Sounds like they want some discipline and order.
elementary schoolers never cease to amaze me with their vivid vocabulary and sense of "know it all" ism.

Money is hardly the problem when it comes to education. The DC public school system is one of the most expensive per student in the nation, yet is one of the worst performing. They have difficulty attracting good teachers- even though the starting pay for a teacher in DC is among the highest in the nation, because they are scared of getting assaulted in class, mugged or raped in the parking lot. This is why DC needed a voucher system. The non-denomination private schools cost less than half as much as DC spent per student, yet have graduation rates in the 90% range. Of course Obama ended the voucher program- at the behest of the teachers' unions-, so the next generation will be lost in gang-banger day-care, as the public DC schools are referred to .

IT SUCKS!!

Why?

Because they try to control us and make us be what they want. For example, in 7th grade, my history teacher told us about himself and he said he was a die hard republican. He says all these good things about Mccain and bad things about Obama.BTW, this was before the election. Anyways, after obama gets elected, he says "I support him 100 percent"

He says he is a die hard republican, says bad things about obama, and then he says he supports him and he is glad he was elected?????

Why did he do this?

To be honest, i really dont know, but i have a thoery. I think they do it so that we support obama and do whatever he tells us to do.

Test scores are falling. To be honest, all anyone cares about in my school is boyfriends and girl friends. But there are a select few who are actaully smart and try hard.

they arent letting us think for our selves anymore. We cant say bad words, what happened to free speach? WE ARE FORCED to go to school. shouldnt it be a choice?

My history teach in 7th grade says "ooo, 9/11 was a horrible day, we were attacked by terrorists." And i tried to show him the facts, and he shut me out, he told me to sit down and shut up. Why does he say that? So that we will believe, "O, stupid terrorists, why did they attack us? So when we grow up, we will support the war and more wars.

We are bieng lied to, and no one takes the time to stop and think, is it rlly true what they are telling me?

It is obvious that the educational system is a fraud, it is not present to educate but rather to programme unqestioning future workers.

Any child who asks too many questions in school is labeled as a trouble maker. Children are subconciously taught not to have an enquisitive mind and to accept everything that is told to them by authority figures.

This is coming from a low ranking member of the illuminati. Schools are completely infiltrated by the illuminati at every level, we set the agenda.
