I see why you do think why violence could be permitted. Bad people coming so close that they threaten to hurt those you love simply IS horrific. Bad people trying to take your life IS horrific.
Don’t get me wrong here, I know exactly what you mean. Haven’t been a ‘nice’ girl all my life and I use to hang-out with criminals when I was young. I also know what it feels like to have a gun in my hand and shoot with it. Luckily in our country firearms are forbidden and I do not, never, want to have a gun in my house, ever again.
One of my ex-boyfriends tried to kill me. He hit me with a ´tool´ and threw me out of the window (5th floor). Miraculously I survided after being 2 months in a coma and almost a year in hospital. Did I hate him for doing that to me? I learned that that was not up to me, I am NOT the divine who speaks justice of men.
What I mean by trying NOT to use violence, comes from a deep Spiritual conviction in me. It’s the NOT acting on impulses of defence and fall back to the use of violence, even when you feel forced to act upon / against negative actions of others.
That’s the whole deal: NOT DO ANYTHING. It’s far from simple I know because I sometimes still struggle with myself to prevent my ego from acting.
Every action gives a contra-action. To stop this endless cycle of cause and action, is NOT to do anything at all. Focus on the preservation of the Soul not the body. Bodies die, Souls live forever.

May I ask what country you live in that does not allow its' citizens to bear arms? Ok-Europe?

I am sew sorry to hear that; and find it very disturbing..
I basically agree; and seek to live according to that; though for the sake of tthose around me I believe I would have to resort to legal action in that case so that he might not harm them.
Exactly. When it's my ego, then it's time to, "stand down". If it's for the sake of my loved ones, "someone innocent" then it's time, "not" to stand down.. Which iS the correct way to move..
I'll add that by saving others from the influence of bad people, the, "divine" might save you from the influence of evil..
