Keith Olbermann Destroys Glenn Beck (VIDEO)

Keith Olbermann slammed Glenn Beck on "Countdown" Monday, ripping the Fox News host apart over his week-long tirade last week.

"The danger of today's version of the mythical homespun aw-shucks-TV-totalitarian-Lonesome-Rhodes Glenn Beck is summed up by remarks today in which he claims that a revolution has begun in this country — a 'stealing of America in the guise of an election' — and his repeated insistence that the President is a Marxist," Olbermann said. "The comfort of today's mythical homespun aw-shucks-TV-totalitarian-Lonesome-Rhodes Glenn Beck is that everyday he gives away the essential truth that he is an idiot."

[color=#FF80FF]This link for more Olbermann...

The video shows how Olbermann 'slams?' Glenn Beck...

Who exactly is he talking to?...

He doesn't have any real viewers going by the stats. Random DVR's that forgot to get turned off? =)

His final 'crumple paper and throw it at you (the camera); was that supposed to be funny?

It's just my opinion, but the facial expression and the paper toss combine to imply 'Glenn Beck is kicking the daylights out of me in the ratings game... I can't hide from this camera because 'the show must go on' but I really want to just go home and suck on some tequila'.

Even if you add up both presentations of Olbermann (8PM & 10PM) he can barely reach ½ as many as Beck on good night.

Here's the video if it's working right...

If not visit the [color=#FF80FF]PINK link above and watch it at Huffington.

(Some people have mentioned that they can't get to other sites to see videos, even though they can get to ATS ... so, I post it here as a courtesy)

Is it me or am I the only one shaking my head in disbelief at Beck's competition?
(It helps to have the same last name as a great imported BEER?)

Beck's audience has a lower IQ per capita than Olberman's. There are also more of them than there are of the smarter civilians.

That said, both anchors are extreme and I dislike the far right and far left. Soon, neither will exist. No more libertarian selfishness, no more Communist hivemind. Moderation will come, and it will come from our souls and from our love. The Christian right has perverted the teachings of love and the Secular left has scoffed at the importance of spirituality.

Soon, the youth will take control of this world and it will be a better place.

So Keith Olbermann is throwing another hissy fit in defense of the love of his life, Obama. Who would have ever saw that coming? I think Beck should do a whole show about Olbermann's never ending kiss planted square on Obama's ass cheek.

I like Obermann. He called George Bush a fascist on national television after the whole Verizon scandal, I think that was very much in tune what with people thought at the time.

That being said, since Obama has taken the reigns he's become very pro government as of late and its' a bit un-nerving.

I still do like his rants on Bill and Beck from Fox. And let's face it, he's one of the only anchors who pokes fun at those folks every day.

Perhaps he understands a little comic relief is necessary when we are bombarded with negavity everytime you open the teli.

I sure would like for you to prove that statement with some demographic numbers. With about a 4 to 1 ratio of viewers, where do you get the idea that Becks viewers are less intelligent?

What I think that is really sad is that instead of listening to what Glenn Beck was saying, or answering the questions, or even going through and taking a look at what he was saying, and investigating it, instead he just attacked Glenn Beck in his tirad. I watched that clip, and yes I did watch what Glenn Beck was stating during that week. Some of the questions and points he brought up are valid, well in my mind, are valid, and other points, I think he may have stretched a bit, but ultimately he got the public to think, and after all with any Democracy, should not the people talk and question and should not that government answer?

there is barely a far left...91% of radio is right wing...there is no air america radio ( a liberal national broadcast) in chicago and new york, 2 of the biggest liberal markets in the country. and yet limbaugh is on mulitple stations in those 2 cities. the right own this country and any pretense that they don't is laughable. and if you think CNN is left, why do they have so many right-wingers on. i live in the central valley of california, and there isn't a liberal station for hundreds of miles up and down the valley...but limbaugh is on multiple staions. name me how many liberal stations are in the south?, how about in the midwest and rocky mountain states? obama was elected with 53% of the vote, but the liberal media represents barely 15% of all, i mean all, of any media in the US. do your own research.

No..Obama was elected by the Electoral College. The public vote doesn't count, at all. It never has...

A Democratic President.

A Democratic Senate

ABC,NBC,MSNBC and CNN(to a lesser extent) kiss Obamas butt.

And you still complain about AM radio? You still think the country is ran by the right?

I believe you are wanting the whole damn media to flood the airways with democratic, liberal crap. I'm sure if you had it your way then Fox, Limbaugh and Beck would all be gone.

Olberman is a tool.
If he had the "journalist" chops he pretends to have, pick apart what Beck is saying, killing the messenger is a fast way to insignifigance.
I've listened to Beck since he got back on the air on 970 WFLA in Tampa, after his bout with drugs and alchohol, he never tried to hide his past, he embraces it as a lesson learned.
He doesn't hide behind qualifiers, as Olberman does, when Beck says he is blowing away cable ratings, he is. Olberman has to add, in the this category or in that demographic.

I thought that Keith Olbermann's observations were very witty, I hadn't seen him before. I liked the line "Theodore Roosevelt, he's the guy that looks like the mountain" in its context of course.

I think it is pretty apparent that Olberman is getting killed in the ratings and will continue to until he has to beg ESPN for his spot on Sportscenter back, and by him trying to "joust" with Beck he is only hoping that by some chance if Beck were to take the bait it may create a burst of ratings and once again bring his smart --- back into the spotlight. The whole remark about the IQ of Beck's audience being lower is absurd and a completely falsified fact.

You can't dispute what was said, so you attack the person saying it.

Typical . . .

Really? I would think it takes more intelligence to follow Beck's show than to follow Olbermann repeating 'Beck is an idiot' 'O'Reilly is an idiot' 'Hannity is an idiot' (although I would have to agree with that last one).

Soon, the youth will take control of this world and it will be a better place.

That is a scary thought. Will we all be forced to wear metal all over our face and pull our pants down so that half of our underwear shows?

I have a friend who's 19 year old grandson talked about how he couldn't wait to vote for Obama. When we asked him why, he replied "we need change". The next question was a little too challenging, so there was no response. We asked "You live with your grandparents, for free. They give you a car to drive, paying for the gas, insurance and maintenance. They are paying your trade school tuition. They are paying your medical expenses. Any money you make at your part-time jobs, which you can't keep, you spend on partying. You don't make enough money to have to pay income taxes. What exactly do you want changed?

So what you are saying is, we should believe everything Beck says because he is more popular? I'm sorry, but I thought we were supposed to believe the truth, not who is more popular.

@ Beck

Edit to add:

It is comments like this that I find despicable about Beck.

"Can you let your son's body become the same temperature as your son's head before you turn this into a political campaign against the president? Could you do that?"

* The Glenn Beck Program, May 14, 2004
* Comment on Michael Berg, the father of murdered American businessman Nicholas Berg

If Obama was in office at the time, you better believe he would be all over Obama being a "Failure" for letting the travesty occur.

Exactly. Olbermann fair and balanced?

100% in the tank for Obama.
NEVER a discouraging word.

A journalist no more.

I don't watch either one. Beck is a idiot and Olberman should go back to Sportscenter.

Both are like broken clocks - and this goes for Hannity, O'Reilly and pretty much anyone on television who TELLS us the news - they get it right once in a while(once every twelve hours of programming, get it?). If you spout political ideology, every once in a while you will come up with the truth but neither one is interested in the truth.

On the other side of the coin, just because it is popular does not mean that it is a shill saying it.

that is very funny for sure...

Beck is like watching a soap opera, emotionally driven, in fact I would bet he uses 1/8th sourcing than most others... He generally spends half of his program emoting, crying, "being angry" and appealing to the feelings of his viewers.
While Olberman is also emotional, he does not work at intensifying his viewers feeling
with feelings. He uses humor and expands of his argument with examples of hypoc
and source to bolster his claims.

I do think Beck is a true actor and a master, but it is not based upon intellect.
