A good friend e-mailed me this picture earlier, as he knows I have an interest in this sort of thing, he copy and pasted it from some forum or website, sorry if it`s all to vague, but that`s all I have, it may be an old picture or hoax, my knowledge on this is very limited, so that`s why I have decided to post it here, for the pro`s to sort out, anyway`s here he is, and at least there`s some evidence of where the picture originated......

I copyed this photo years ago until i done a really good check of the picture.I beleive it is fake because the container the alien is in is covered in a clear plastic container.I had always though there was no clear plastic available back in 1947.The studs along the side and the edges also supports my theorie that its a plastic container not glass. You would think with something so valueable they would at least put the alien in a sealed glass container.Of course the alien may have been placed in the plastic container at a later date. But i very much doubt that. What do you think about that.

As far as clear plastic, our military is 50 years ahead of our country in technology. So i would have to say they had it.

It looks to be real, ... still waitring on upclose high rez video of a live or dead alien so the subject of real or fake can be put to rest. Real is truth, but nay sayers want a heaven of proof to free their conditioned minds.

Although I think its ridiculous to assume the military didn't have clear plastic, that's not really an issue. Why can't it be glass?

Looks pretty genuine to me, but it could "easily" be hoaxed I'm sure some of you would say. I have had experiences that make me a believer, so for me UFO's and aliens are FACT, but I don't know if this is real, just that EBEs are real in general.

Not saying it's real or not.

But I find your observations incorrect. If you look close the 'studs' are clearly in a metal piece that runs along the bottom of the clear area, and out to each end where theres a metal "cap".

Further, plexiglass was invented in the twenties, and marketed in the 30's, if there were an agency working with aliens, I assume they would be on the cutting edge. If 15 years is cutting edge.

Thus there are various ways that the casing could have been created at the time, and I don't think your stated reasons are enough to debunk the picture. Like I said, I do not know if it's real, just going over the obersations. In my opinion, for someone to rule this picture out they will need to find something else in the photo - for instance, the wall in the background... wtf is that?

Further, if we could get the original picture on the old film that would do alot. Why anyone would be taking the time to create and fake an alien picture in the forties is completely stumps me since they weren't a big deal then really.

Am I missing something, where is there any indication that this photo is from 1947?

It certainly doesn't look that old to me, is there a date on it somewhere that I'm just not seeing? Never mind the fake alien model...

He's using that date because its Roswell, the "reported first time contact was made". Though people argue that there have been many more crash and recoveries of aliens, he used that date because it 'could' be a roswell alien.. thus the picture must conform to what was available in that year.

People we had clear plastic on the B-17 bombers during WWII in the ball turrets.

Enough debate about that.

I say the picture is a hoax.

There's not much point in trying to guess whether the alien is in latex or not, or the container plastic or not.

You have a name, Alan Lewis, do the research from there.

Who is this guy, was his father in the army, what grade and what unit, does it correspond with the uniform in the picture (if real)...

But for a start, check other UFO web sites and forums to see if someone has already done that research, and if unconvincing, verify the research done,

Can't do it myself, I have to work for a living

$400 alien prop

[edit on 1-9-2009 by oneangrymonk]

Anyone using that thing as an "alien prop" would be debunked in about 0.0001 of a second. Look at the muscular arms for a start. Proves nothing.

Besides.... just because you can post a picture of a Ferrari... it doesn't prove I own a Ferrari does it.

debunked?

not yet fully debunked: but it's a matter of seconds.
excerpt from Isaac Koi's Infamous alien photos database:

This "alien" has 100% positively been identified to actually be an inexpensive latex prop sculpted by the distinguished Hollywood makeup effects designer, Don Post. In certain retail shops it's possible to find a model of it that glows in the dark...

and

This fake alien is in a section of our exhibition about debunking UFO’s. In the normal layout of the show it is staged near a section showing numerous Hollywood images of aliens, illustrating the real power of aliens as marketing tools. There is also a news clip about someone who thought they captured video of an alien craft while filming a music video. The clip shows the process of how the footage was investigated and later proved to be an insect flying through the scene. There are also photos of famous UFO images that were later debunked. The Debunking Area is usually followed by a timeline of space exploration showing all of the research activity conducted throughout the last several decades, with no resulting hard evidence of extraterrestrial beings.

The alien photo was taken at Pacific Science Center's show, and the alien prop was made by Don Post.

Now, let's say that it's debunked.

I have seen this before on here and in google searches for alien pics. I think it could be real, who knows. It looks like it could be IMO but that is just me. I couldnt really find much information on it....Personally if it is real I dont think the little guy or gal looks all that bad...Kind of cute like ET : )

I will S&F it and maybe some of the other members who are really good in this area will chime in.
