'Exploding' iPhones investigated

news.bbc.co.uk

The firm has been accused of trying to hush-up cases of iPhones and iPods heating up or bursting into flames in the US and the UK.

Ken Stanborough and his daughter, from Liverpool, have accused the firm of trying to silence them with a gagging order after the child's iPod exploded and the family sought a refund.

Apple reportedly offered to pay the money to Mr Stanborough, but only if he kept the terms of the settlement confidential.

It has been reported that the device's lithium ion batteries could be the source of the problem.

Just thought id let you know, iphones are apparently 'exploding' in peoples faces. For some reason there is no estimate to how many of these have actually 'exploded'. Can you see a possible cover-up happening here? Compo scam? If this is true; just remember not to leave one down the side of the sofa or in your car. probably best just to leave it outside or go get a refund.

Blame is on Mossad for this, not the company.

I have heard a lot of stories of iphones exploding. You would think Apple would be building them better. Apple should fix this problem before they get sued.

Apple doesn't build them. Some slave labor in the Pacific rim does and puts Apples name on them!

There is a good chance that Apple may not be the culprit nor even the people who assemble the actual phones but rather the supplier of the battery packs. If you poke around the internet a bit you can find a wealth of stories about various lithium ion battery packs going up in smoke, some quite spectacularly at that. Chances are its shoddy work by the producer of the battery, and hopefully so because I would prefer my iPod Touch not to detonate in my laptop case

The iPhones have become self aware. Adn they will try to enslvae humanity so they won't be used for phones anymore, or we have learned that lithium ion batteries suck, or that people need to not use the iPhone all of the time.
