All the more reason for it to be asked... IMHO.

That's the sort of question I'd probably miss with a camera in my face...

I am with you. the world and the US has all kinds. As a governmetn worker that always interacts with the public, I see THEM ALL.

I have people who have no idea they have a well on their property and I have people who are capable of discussing the breakdown of radium.(I specialize in radium testing) which is not an easy subject to undertand.

You spent all your life learning on how to break down radium, wow thats sad.....................................
See how I can generalize too?

1. Was Saddam Hussein personally involved in 9/11?
By virtue of his previous involvement with the CIA, he most certainly knew some of the people who orchestrated 911.

2. Should the Government be involved with Medicare?
No. Obviously, Freddie-Mae and Fanny-Life should run Medicare.

3. Name a branch of the Government.
What was the branch that makes all the laws called again? Oh, right - The Lobbying Branch.

4. What is the Bill of Rights?
A list of rights that our founding fathers had.

5. What country did America fight in the Revolutionary War?
Ourselves.

6. What was the central issue in the Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade?
State's rights.

7. What does the Food & Drug Administration do?
Population control.

8. How many Senators do states have?
None. Today states just have two more congressmen.

...

11. Does the Sun rotate around the Earth?
Yes. It does NOT, however, revolve around the Earth.

Did he make this claim before or after Obama got elected?

If you actually take the minute or so to watch the video you will note that Blitzer mentions the fact that people elected Obama as president in an attempt to discredit Mahers claim not prove it.

Maher simply responds more or less by saying, "look at the pathetic alternative" and "electing a bright person does not make you bright".

So true.

With that line of thinking...so did President Bush.
Both of them.

You aren't even answering the question.

P.S. The answer would still be a "no".

Since question 1 (Saddam) states personal involvement, and I have never seen any evidence to even suggest he had any personal involvement, I think it's a fair question. Press credentials? Really? How do I get them???

Edit to add: Riverfront. It's a very popular section of Downtown, so should provide a good cross-section of people.

No evidence he was personally involved, so...

2. Should the Government be involved with Medicare? Calls for opinion

It is a Government program! DUH! You are starting to sound like one of 'them'...

10. What percentage of the Federal Budget goes to foreign aid? Please...

Since the masses like to bit... complain about it, it is not too much to ask that they know how much of the budget (within 10%) is allocated to it.

11. Does the Sun rotate around the Earth? Things rotate on an axis. they revolve around other objects. Bzzzzt! Question fail

Fine, revolves. Now, feel better? I just wrote down what he said in the video. Hmm, smart on 11 and DUMB on 2.

Thought ya all might find this interesting.

Big Beck: Goes over 3 million viewers, beats O’Reilly in demo: Cable News Ratings for Wednesday, August 26, 2009 might find this interesting,

Posted on 27 August 2009 by Robert Seidman

Though a little scandal might alienate advertisers, it’s pure ratings gold. Last night Glenn Beck had over 3 million viewers at 5pm, second only to O’Reilly for the night. But, Beck had more 25-54 viewers than O’Reilly (888K to 876K). I don’t watch or really even care about the cable news wars, but still…wow. Even though Beck airs before primetime, when there are fewer people watching TV, he had the most 25-54 viewers in the cable news world for the night.

I just remembered a couple of shining examples of how smart, well educated people can be 'stupid'. Back in the early part of the space program, NASA discovered ballpoint pens did not work in space (DUH!). They spent $7,000,000 to devise a pen that did (who knows how much that would be in today's $$$). What did the Soviet Union do? TOOK PENCILS!

Another classic NASA example, up until Apollo 1, they pressurized the capsules with pure oxygen. Highly flammable gas enclosed in a space with live electrical wiring! I'm surprised it took until Apollo 1 for it to catch fire and kill astronauts! AND THESE CLOWNS WORKED WITH PURE OXYGEN TO PROPEL THE DAMN THINGS INTO SPACE!

Intelligence in my opinion has nothing to do with ones ability to spot a foreign country on a map. That's a learned ability that even the dumbest brick could pick up.

But on a basic level, he is absolutely right. American the most ignorant country on the planet. Whats worse, is that they are extremely bigheaded with defending that ignorance, even while their country is systematically destroyed around them.

I have been on ATS for I think 2 years now, and although users come here to achieve a greater understanding of our reality, even here I find people overwhelmed with ignorance. Until ATS I had never really had experiences where I wrote multiple page reports, simply to be asked the same question that is explained throughout. So even ATS is not immune to the ignorant American syndrome.

The thing is people, for decades Americans have sat on their high horse. Having no idea that the joke was on them the whole time, now as the days pass by in this year 2009, it becomes more apparent by the day that soon the entire world will have their chance to laugh at the misfortunes of Americans. Who's to blame? Everyone who decided to keep their head up there ass, and watch American idol.

18% think the sun revolves around the earth. Besides it doesn't really matter what you think of yourselves, how you are seen is 100% up to those who are doing the seeing - and 100% of the world thinks Americans are certified retards - of course Americans don't think that - who wants to admit they are retarded.

Isn't Bill Maher the guy who complimented the 9/11 terrorists
for "getting the job done?"
If he doesn't like it here, he should move to Canada.
They will welcome him with open arms.

Stupid people are probably a statistic, I see these posts everyday.

If people are able to make there own decisions on vids like these, and would actually watch them through, that would fix one half.

The other half stop when Bill Maher called them idiots, and pause the vid, and get on sites where they could argue their inadequacies.
