Oh baby, this sounds like a great event to attend! Any chance ATS could get a reporter out there to cover this event for the ATS News page? Surely you have nothing better to do that Saturday, Skeptic Overlord, seeing as you are in NYC?

Nope... not in NYC anymore... about 450 miles away.

Aww man! WTF. Where in the heck you go, and when was this you moved? Not to get off topic here, but that is news. Don't tell me.... You moved in with Springer and Val?

I'm in New York, right in the city. Maybe I'll make an appearance, do you need to buy tickets or admission or something?

I'm making do in -gulp- Buffalo, NY right now. Yeah, I know all the jokes.

I've given some thought to attending with a quality video camera... but our discretionary resources are not significant, and a visit to NYC for this event is unlikely.

Aww man, I thought surely we could get someone there like you. Heck, you'd get to meet the guy who did Core of Corruption!

And of course our very own Craig Ranke from CIT.

Well hey, look on the bright side of things. Being in downtown Manhattan as you used to be wasn't exactly the safest of places, ya know? I for one am glad, frankly, you are out of there. 450 miles is probably clear of the blast zone...

ok, sorry peoples, back on topic...

There might still be hope... when I first saw the schedule for the event, it looked like it was spread out over several days. Now that I had another look, it appears as though everything is jammed into Saturday, 9/12. I might be able to do a commando-style morning-in and evening-out flight and avoid expensive NYC hotels.

Stay tuned.

Yay! (Applause)

Ok, how about this. If you agree to go and video the key presentations, SURELY we can organize a quick like ATS donation drive to cover your costs. I'm in for 20 bucks. Who's gonna match me? Let's cover SO's expenses so we can get the scoop first hand!

I just have one request, and that would be to get the audio right by contacting the A/V company in advance and securing a line feed off the mixing board, sourced from a pre fader aux send, so the A/V operator can't screw up and cut off the mic volume, or cause the audio levels to vary to tape. In addition record to a separate deck the hall audio live as backup. A/V operators often will screw these things up.

I doubt any of the speakers would mind at all, seeing as it would be covered officially from ATS, for the sheer exposure!

Ok, thanks P1! Match my 20? That'd be 40.00 right there. 10 of us and we could help SO defray costs by 200.00, which I am sure would help him. A mere 25 of us at 20 and we could probably cover his tickets and expenses. Come on peoples, what's 20 bucks?

It would be great if we could get an ATS representative to attend the event and possible have a live video feed that we can access via this site?

+1 with a live stream, If not, recording would be excellent too!

If we avoid overnight hotel costs, there's no need to scrape up a "travel fund."

But you can help after the fact by spreading the word about the finished videos.

I'm currently working with the event organizer to try and establish a schedule of interviews with the speakers... if we can get that accomplished and we're guaranteed access, then it makes sense to go... and I'll also solicit questions from ATS members.

I'd be in for $20 also if needed.

I hear Gage is speak at a mosque in NJ (?) that weekend.

Why don't you go to that one and film it?

I'm sure that they'll be appreciative that some neutral 3rd party be there when and if the radicals there get a little angry at him for denying that their heroes did the deed.

Should be an internet hit.....

So far, my emails to Sander Hicks, the event organizer, do not have a response.

If we can't establish press credentials and some interview schedules, all we'd get is footage of the speakers at St. Marks and attendees.

Stay tuned.

Be sure to catch up on Gage's debunking before spending money on that conference:

Oh, well sorry, didn't mean to imply you didn't have the money or anything...It's just from a previous post above, it sounded like 'discretionary' funds were down. Just trying to help.

But anyway, glad you're trying to do something on this. Perhaps jthomas will go with you, and accuse you of being a "troofer" the whole way.

I am in NYC now, I will be gone prior to 9/11/09 however.

Bill is not a truther and typically is very unbiased regarding 911 CT's.

(i wont comment on the two red flags under my avatar)
