You got a problem with God?

OP promised us in the first post that he would remain silent throughout the thread- unfortunately he has done the polar opposite to that- replying to each and every post..well, the ones that go against his opinion.

The whole thread is just a calculated attempt at bashing anyone that doesn't agree with his world view ie belief in an imaginary being.

That is a very good theory.. he indeed did ask for beliefs that conflicted with his own and then attacked people for holding them. It's almost like he was trying to herd "non believers" up into a trap so he could throw rocks at them.

He politely asked for views/complaints against god in the OP.. but that was clearly just a trap to lure atheists .. or (ahem) "these people" to attack them as on page 14 he is calling anyone who doesn't believe in the gospel desperate and says we make him laugh and vomit? Yes thats open minded and tolerant.

And this is his reponse when someone dared to ask him what the conspiracy was.. but even though it is meant to be a conspiracy forum he replied with this:

This guy has been abusing people for SEVERAL PAGES now and he has NOT mentioned any conspiracy and he's made it very clear that the point of this thread was to challenge atheists to a boxing match. He makes a quip about this thread not being removed because god was on his side even though this thread was meant to be about asking atheists why they don't believe in god and he assured us that it was meant to be a civil discussion..

In my opinion, you asked for what you got and now you are angry about it? Pick your battles..

There will always be people that have a thing against god.

They where presented the alternative, denied its validity and then convinced themselves there is no god. We on the other hand where presented with the idea and found it true. They have made their choice, we have made ours.

If they find god sometime in their lives than I am happy for them. I try to give them guidance that leads them to that path, but forcing them to accept it is not the christian way nor is it the right way. Insulting them back is just immature and puts you at their level.

This thread has served no purpose except to provide ammunition against the cause. Perhaps if you had chosen your words more carefully or given the thread a different title, people would have responded in a much more positive way.

I might agree with you, but I don't agree with your methods.

I noticed that you made no real effort to provide a logical argument for your idea of god. You have been bombarded by ever possible atheistic explanation for the lack there of and instead of standing up for what you beleive in you just got angry. Now you are at your wits end. Perhaps you can learn from this experience.

I personally would not have backed down so easily and I would have phrased my responses better.

I thought abuse was the same as critiqueing.

I personally do not have a gripe with people who believe in god.. it's how they percieve the universe. What I am sick of is people who believe presuming they are more moral than I am just because they believe.

Superior morality is not something that is purchased through reading a bible as loud as you can so everyone in earshot can hear you.. that has nothing to do with morality. Thats just postering and all it tells us is you like religion and the idea of god. Why don't these posers go do charity work with the poor, sick or disabled like Jesus is meant to have done?

They probably don't want to be anywhere near them. Reading about what Jesus said would be easy.. actually following his example and instructions would mean hanging out with those kinds of people he helped. It's far easier to pick fights with atheists on the internet.

Many people's perceptions of a God must be completely wrong. I can't see how an all-powerful, all-knowing being could do things the way he appears to be doing them. Christians claim this is because he has a plan and what-not, and we puny humans cannot comprehend his "mysterious ways". I think that is bull#. If God is loving and kind and generous and all that great stuff, why is the world in the crapper? Why have I in the past prayed as I was taught to, and nothing happened? Why do I see other people doing the same thing? God never appears to answer one single prayer. Ever. And yet the Bible claims that He will. Nothing that happens these days is ever anything like the supernatural events that occured in the Bible. No fire from heaven consuming the sacrifice. No talking donkeys. No glowing angels appearing to people and telling them the way. No vast seas being parted to make way for a troubled nation to cross over safely. And yet the Bible is too old to be strictly proven false or true. It was too long ago. I show more love for my pet cat, and vice versa, than God does for me. Unless inherently useful things like existing, waking up, breathing, etc. are considered "God's love". If that is the extent of God's love, then no wonder the world is in chaos. My whole point is that God must be a very powerful being that set things in motion and sat back to watch. He wouldn't be a loving, generous being. He would be more like an extremely powerful scientist performing a huge experiment. The only other explanations are: A) He doesn't exist, B) He at some point in time became incompetent and can't be God anymore, C) He just doesn't care, or D) B & C. I'm going with my first choice. He is an experimentor/scientist.

You want to know what my big beef is? The one I have held since I was one year old when I become cognizant if who I was? It's that 'it' wanted to destroy me, the 'malevolent creature' wanted to give me another 'chance', and the 'benevolent creature' agreed. So, I was given a choice of the life I would live, I was told to 'choose', and I chose. So, I've been stuck here, in this universe where there is no 'power', in this life I would lead, with memories of that incident not properly locked away, knowing that this life will make me or break me.... literally, and I still don't have a clue as to what I am suppose to do to avoid my complete, total, and utter destruction. He's saved my life many times already and blessed me with an awesome
family, as well as giving me all my heart desires. (within reason of course)
How many can say that. Of course I will praise him.
We are the ones polluting and destroying ourselves and our only home.
Don't blame him for our evil ways.
He is waiting for us to get a clue!
We don't deserve to be saved if we dont take some responsibility!
He could just start over ya know....
