Im quite intrested in this mineral, not only as its a world rarity in being found and mined in a handful of places worldwide, but it just happens that
one of the places where this mineral is found is literally across the hill from me in Castleton.
I even have a small piece of Blue John from my travels around the area which I found on the path below the mine.
Blue John is a Flourite mineral being made hydrothermally and then compressed millions of years ago before being discoloured naturally before being
discovered in the modern age. It was origionally thought that only Castleton and France was home to this mineral but other areas have since been
discovered including veins in China. The mineral has no real monetary value aside from collective value but many people believe it to hold healing and
mystic powers, such paranormal events take place around areas where this rock resides aswell.
