Deadly blast by Nato's Kabul base

A suicide car bomb has exploded outside the Nato headquarters in the Afghan capital, Kabul, killing up to seven people, the defence ministry says.

The presidential palace and several embassies are also located in the area.

The attack comes ahead of presidential and provincial elections due on Thursday which the Taliban have vowed to disrupt.

The sooner the Taliban are defeated the better. These continued outrages which harm the local population more than anyone else reveal the true nature of the Taliban, whether it is a car bomb, a road-side bomb or a suicide bomber with thousands of innocent muslims killed because of them.

Quite rightly, we are all appauled when NATO accidently kill civilians, but noone seems to bat an eye lid when the Taliban do it and some people even find excuses for their behaviour.
