It looks like the police in Clermont, Florida, have a “suspect” in the serious crime of posting Obama as Joker posters. “Clermont police have interviewed one suspect who is admitting to putting up the dozens of posters pasted around the city depicting President Obama as the Joker character from the Batman film The Dark Knight, city officials confirmed,” reports the Orlando Sentinel. featured stories Florida Police Interrogate Suspect in Obama Joker Poster Crime obama pole A criminal Obama as Joker poster in Clermont, Florida. The individual admitted to “putting up 500″ of the posters. Clermont Police Capt. Eric Jensen said others are likely involved in the nefarious plot. “We have talked to an individual,” Jensen said. “He only admitted to some of it…We’re still tracking down leads and talking to folks. We have not arrested anybody.”

Another deadly blow to our free speech..............

I doubt if it has anything to do with free speech. This is more along the lines of "littering". Years back when I was playing in bands, we would make flyers for upcoming shows and post them all around the city.......on the sides of public buildings, on telephone poles, on public mailboxes, on road signs, on store windows.........well, we got in trouble for it. It had nothing to do with free speech, though.

Personally, I think the Joker posters are awesome, but I can see why a city would get pissed when 500 of them are slapped around town....whatever the subject matter. Unfortunately, public bulletin boards cannot be found every block to post things on. Ah, well......

I wouldn't call this a blow to free speech just yet. They haven't arrested anybody, and if they do, we don't know what the charge will be.

I have been stopped by police and forced to pick up flyers before! There are ordinances against wallpapering a city with whatever thing you are advertising.

Sure, there is a political agenda here, but if the police use common sense, and fair judgement the same as they do for a pizza joint or a rave, then I don't see any problem.

Lets wait and see.

You're probably right, it probably is considered littering.

That means the person should just get a slap on the wrist.
Guess we'll wait and see what happens next.

Bush = slap on the wrist

Obama = GITMO, IRS siezure, FEMA camp induction, Beheading, and being made fun of on MSNBC.

I am plenty anti-Obama, but these outrageous GITMO and FEMA laws were Bush's! The Patriot Acts were Bush's.

So far Obama has expanded the reign of terror into Healthcare and Economics, but lets be fair, he has only had 6 months or so! He will catch up to Bush soon enough, no need to give him extra credit!

I meant it with some humour. I'm just illustrating the back-lash that anyone caught doing that to Bush vs Obama.

Just having some fun in a very dark time.

i call bull@#%$. Every damn election season walls, light poles, and the ground are littered with trash in the form of campaign signs, posters, bumper stickers. Most of this stuff will sit around for a very long time after the elections are over. Why do we not see the people clean this up, why are they not apprehended for questioning?

In my town, I don't know about others, but here in Tallahassee, they allow political signs displayed for a certain time period before the election, and then a reasonable clean up time. After that, the code enforcers do indeed start issuing citations and fines.

The Obama/Joker posters would probably fall into that exception, if this were a pre-election campaign.

littering and....
littering and.....
littering and.....offending the president???
hmm...
i don't think that they hunt people who post signs, illegally or not, and interrogate them.

i wouldn't be surprised if someone was seen posting signs for anything that a police officer might stop them and tell them they can't or this or that, but to actually find them...and then interrogate them?? hmm...

either he did it or not, i don't see a need to "interrogate" him.
is it likely this is some organized conspiracy of posting obama socialism pictures???
this may not be something to get riled up about just yet...
but to say that this is just about littering is just silly, imo.

we all know its about more than that.
whether he will face time or more "information" will come out of him implicating "others" in some great conspiracy against the president in whatever way....time will tell.

littering. wtf? no more along the lines of free speech. The cops have been harassing us about these sign's ever seance they started.

The news papers are even calling for the arrest and killing of those who post those posters. The Southern Poverty Law Center said that btw.

LOL I love the Super Troopers refrence!
Seriously since when do the police interrogate someone for littering? Talk about a conspiracy there maybe more!!
Way too much effort for littering if you ask me.

I live in Florida!

On the local news, citizens and the news said that they had no problem with the picture, but the vandalism with private property... If they start to say that we can not say nuthin at all about Barack Joker Obama, then it will be just like 1773 >.
