If you have ever watched a full "episode" (if that would be what it's called lol) of Glenn Beck you will most likely notice that at least once in every show he contradicts something that he said... in that very show.

I like his coverage of Economics, but that's where I draw the line.. and only because he presents information regarding economics that other news shows would never dream of..

Aside from that he's garbage.. recovering crack addicts often say the most bizarre things .. Come to think of it.. Bush JR also admitted to Cocaine use.. maybe that's why they both say off the wall comments like they say what's in their minds before processing it.

I usually dust that puppy off when people complain that there is no mention of Healthcare in the Constitution. It is meant to be a metaphor for State-of-the Art Medicine circa 1776. I query if they'd like the same level of technolgy used since they are so enamoured with clinging to the past. They rarely provide a positive response.

It seemed germane to this thread. Source was Google Images, don't recall keywords. Old fashioned enema perhaps?

Regards. . . KK

From a historical perspective I find your comments incredibly ignorant..

First off, the health care system in America at around 1700's was private.. only the wealthy got medical care. The medical care was primitive, but not as primitive as that painting (which I would hazard a guess at 13-15th century) but still, health care was privatized.

However, like anything not listed in the Constitution, it is a States Right. The Federal Government cannot legally assume responsibility for something not listed as it's responsibility especially if it assumes control from the States.

An Amendment would need to be ratified to legalize National Health Care. It's not that the Constitution forbids a NHS type system in the States, it simply means the States have control.. if the FEDS want the power over our health, the States must give it to them.. You might be wondering.. well why don't they just propose a new amendment.. and quite frankly they would never do that, .. the Amendment would get shot down most likely. (2/3rds vote in both houses)

I think you might like to take a refresher course on the Constitution.

Edit to add because so many have no clue what I am talking about..

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Source: US Constitution, Amendment 10

Vince I'm not sure if you watched the entire video. Jon actually said the same thing "well maybe he's a bit groggy etc.. sure when he comes back he'll be back to his senses right?

But then, Glenn ran several shows chastising our "nightmare" of a healthcare system.

His surgery was in Jan, and he ran a special about the horrors of the American Healthcare as late as June...

Them some serious meds ain't they?

Other than a stupid laughing icon , you'll have to try to make some sort of logical case for whatever it is that you're trying to say.

I'm assuming you're not trying to say that his opposition to the Fed Govt further destroying the country means he thinks everythign is perfect.

I mean.. please tell me there's more than that?

I have to agree with you here to a point. I used to watch him a lot and you are right, the only reason was for some economic stories, because everything else was wacky.

But, some might mistake his concerns about the topics du jour for his economics shpeals...

I didn't realize he was a recovering crack addict too. I knew Beck was a recovering alcoholic, and I figured he'd experimented with drugs in the past, but I didn't realize the lengths.

I was responding to your original point. You seemed to imply what he said about American healthcare was due to the meds he was on. But he called it a "nightmare" as late as Jun 08.

That's all.. and so I was basically saying if what you implied were true they must have been some strong meds, which was the punch line.

Well the reason why he "claims" to be opposed to it today is because he believes our Healthcare system as it is to be the best in the world, yet he just not 1 year ago called it a nightmare.

So if he's against gov healthcare reform but still doesn't like the current system, he should say "i know it sucks, but that aint the way"...

But instead he shills for the viewers.

Oh God. who cares.

Do Conservatives behave in this weird obsessive/stalkingesque/parsing-statements-over-time/score-counting nonsense .. other than for current Govt office-holders?

If I was on the Left, I think i would go insane with the constant compulsion to find fault with everyone and everything.

I'm in chicago, so i dont have a large enough sample of Conservatives to determine that.

Is Glenn Beck even relevant? Isn't he the drugged out mormon guy? Does anyone really take him seriously?

Looking at his ratings I would say many people take him seriously.

Which is sorta ok with me, as for the most part he is Libertarian in value .. if you can understand what hes saying.. and perhaps when he isn't embarrassing himself like he did with the internment camp special (which was absolutely hilarious).. Of course, he's so off the wall and quasi-retarded I almost feel as if hes a plant to derail the Libertarian movement lol..

Bingo.

He's the kind of person you get a laugh at while, maybe, getting some sort of news. Like John Stewart or Stephen Colbert. To take him completely seriously would be to take John Stewart completely seriously.

Perhaps you missed this:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

At last count, 7 major advertiser's have bailed. Buh-bye.

I'd say he's in his "last throes." Better fire up the TIVO if you like him.

Worth noting again.

Glenn Beck airs on FOX NEWS CHANNEL.

John Stewart airs on COMEDY CENTRAL NETWORK.

Can you see a contextual relationship? Parity vs. parody perhaps? (Gosh, I crack myself up sometimes.)

No. It makes perfect sense. When I got my wisdom teeth pulled I couldn't believe the barbaric and crudeness of the tools available. But now that I'm healed, I realize that they did a damn good job and I couldn't have done it better myself.

Again, something can suck, and still look better next to something worst.

Gorman... For those who didn't watch the video.

Beck's surgery was in Jan 08. Beck called our healthcare system a "nightmare" in June of 08.

Kinda blows your theory.

Glenn Beck is like any other pundit. Roll up some bills & stuff them up his slot & he'll say whatever you want.

Did you know that one of the 3 republican representatives on the 6-man bi-partisan health care reform committee is handing out free copies of Beck's book as he goes around preaching against the bill?

as for the crack comment no wonder you can't believe obama

WASHINGTON – The electrifying presidential campaign of Barack Obama faces a new challenge – a Minnesota man who claims he took coc aine in 1999 with the then-Illinois legislator and participated in homosexual acts with him.
www.wnd.com... as for Beck's tale of two healthcares, it's called perspective. when obama decided to mandate our health perhaps Glen's perspective changed?Did you ever hear the proverb about the man with no shoes?
On a side note I'm very happy for you guys(kk,hh,cs) must be nice that your bosses finally let you start talking to each other, you paid shills /plants gotta stick together

Ironic that someone would question motives/source of OP and provide World Net Daily as a link/source in a prior post with a blatantly false smear.

So now after false accusations that President Obama is purported to be among other things a Muslim (nothing against that), The AntiChrist, not a US citizen, now he is a crack-head homosexual.

I honestly don't know what makes some people so ignorant, but whatever it is sure seems to be working.

Bring it.

KK

Where DID you find that? Are there more?

Complete LOL

This video was shown on his own show!! I watched it at the time, and now I'm thinking, yep, another right wing hypocrite. Just like the Medicare Prescription Plan of 2003. It was signed and delivered! Do you know what was in that bill? End of Life consultation!!!

[edit on 14-8-2009 by aero56]

Great find about the Prescription Plan. Could it be that Bush and Obama actually have the same agenda? Could it be that Glenn Beck AND Jon Stewart are just other stooges working for the same people as Bush AND Obama? Say it isn't so.
