Georgia congressman warns of Obama dictatorship???

WASHINGTON (AP) - A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist dictatorship.
"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he's the one who proposed this national security force," Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. "I'm just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may—may not, I hope not—but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism."


Broun cited a July speech by Obama that has circulated on the Internet in which the then-Democratic presidential candidate called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.

"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it's exactly what the Soviet Union did," Broun said. "When he's proposing to have a national security force that's answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he's showing me signs of being Marxist."

Obama's comments about a national security force came during a speech in Colorado in which he called for expanding the nation's foreign service.

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set," Obama said in July. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

The Obama transition team declined to comment on Broun's remarks. But spokesman Tommy Vietor said Obama was referring in the speech to a proposal for a civilian reserve corps that could handle postwar reconstruction efforts such as rebuilding infrastructure—an idea endorsed by the Bush administration.

Broun said he believes Obama would move to ban gun ownership if he does build a national security force.

Unless the big groups that are betting on him help with that, like the Apollo Allinace, after all they are not only Democratic interest groups but also Republicans, that if the cap and trade bill doesn't make it before next elections.

People thinks that the biggest thing in congress is the health care reform but they don't know how big is the trade and cap to interest groups.

I originally thought so as well, but now? Look what has been accomplished in 6 months with no special "emergency" provisions. I am sure the slow Hurricane season has put a kink in the plans, but just wait for the first major storm, or flood, or earthquake, or snow!

Declare National Disaster, apply Bushes laws, put FEMA in control of State resources and assets.

They are already recruiting Internment Specialists. They are already deputizing civilian responders. They already ordered the Martial Law signs. They already created the atmosphere of rebellion. They already got the press calling us "Angry Mobs."

I will be surprised if we make to Christmas without a major incident.

Obama's first State of the Union Address will be historical beyond proportion or imagination!

He, he, I forgot we have a mild hurricane season so far it most be el nino again.



Still I believe that he will deliver a great address to the nation, he is after all a very good looking and charismatic speaker, usually most figure heads are, (well I had to admit Bush was not so good at speaking), but he served his purpose regardless.

Obama will have to create something to encourage the population before Christmas when people will be reminded of how the economic crisis is hitting them at their homes.

Unrest will keep just growing.

How would he take some of the burden off of the US military? They aren't allowed to operate in the US. Nope, he is as this congressman says, a marxist attempting a take over.

We have two choices, we can fight him in the halls of congress over the current batch of bills he is trying to ram through, if we loose then we can either surrender or fight him in the streets. Our choice.

I feel that if his bills he proposes are stopped, this will be the line in the sand and he will come to realize that the US is not a simple nut to crack.

Just for the record, he talked of this civilain military force during the primaries and the actual run up to the election. He has also said indirectly it will be the dregs of society in his military so rape, pillage, plunder, murder and assorted other crimes against humanity will be his MO. I would expect being black and worshiping bho will help ones advancement in this army. Being black after it's defeat may not be such a good thing.

The dims have created a monster and they aren't going to be able to control it down the road.

My problem is I find all of em very believeable.

May I now please note that it was our hicks ville state of Georgia Congressman that had the first sensible word concerning the possible Marxist ideas Obama may have.

One thing for sure we are not scared rabbits down here in the dirty south.

I guess it's too much to even consider that this will be the first of many Congressmen and Representatives to speak out against the Obama administration.

I know most all those boys that represent Georgia in Washington. They're not a bad bunch.

Could be that some of our good old boys down here need to have a Sunday go to meeting with all those that represent we, the people that elected them. And it won't be at a town hall meeting.

I can promise you some of those boys will not be elected again. They can kiss politics good bye if they do not represent us properly.

The Patriot Act is currently set to expire in December. I'm not going to freak out until I see how he handles that.

Not sure about a dictatorship.

However, with all the Csars and Csarinas he has appointed, it does seem as tho he is building his own private government that none of us or Congressmen or Senators have anything to say about.

He can control the military in the USA because the National Guard can operate in the USA and there are provisions underwhich the regular military can do so as well.

If he does ever actually create a civilian military/police force, it will have no credibility and will not be well received or accepted. If his goal is to incite a civil war, that just might do it. It brings back the 1950's and the era of "If Mommie is a Commie, then you gotta turn her in."

The Republicans have been waging a concerted effort to discredit the current Administration in any way they possibly can. The general game plan is to fabricate some outlandish but emotionally charged 'observation' and get people all whooped-up about it. The GOP feeds on fear and distrust. It's their currency.

Look at the fabrications and distortions they've been openly perpetrating regarding the healthcare debate. These are shot down as ridiculous one after another and they just put yet another out. They openly said this was their plan. Torch Obama on healthcare and they can bring down the Democrats. It's all political maneuvering. And I'm ashamed that a group as puportedly intelligent as the ATS community buys this manure.

Look at any healthcare threads here. Some off-the-hook claim is made citing some portion of the proposed legislation --- for example "the Obamacare plan will require RFID implants'. The poster will cite chapeter and verse (or at least carefully chosen ones) and ATSers will line up for 2 or three pages with "I told you so', I knew it', 'Not me, wanna see my guns?'. Then some brave soul will make a post clearly proving that the allegation is entirely bogus and the subsequent posts will all continue on as if the debunking post was never made. Rather than consider the truth (or for that matter the reasonable), you all WANT to believe this crap. And that's what it is: Poltically orginated crap in the GOP v. Dem wars. And you've all become footsoldiers. Congratulations.

We've got some very serious problems in this country. They didn't start with the current Adminsitration and they're not likely to end with it. But I find apalling the fact that any political party is willing to compromise the good of the country for their own politcal powerbase. The GOP is using all of their voices from all corners to do this. Palin with the death panels, Congressmen with outrageous claims about provisions in healthcare, Cheney with the CIA and the current Administration allegedly putting the country at-risk and making it less safe. Is he freaking kidding? How can any intelligent person be this myopic? Has no one bothered to remind him that the ONLY time we HAVE been attacked was on his frigging watch?

Republicans WANT disaster, so they can blame Democrats and rush in to "save us". These traitors actually believe this country belongs to them. They thought the Bush era of looting would go for on forever and are outraged Obama is trying to stop it. America is under no threat from "Marxism", quite the opposite. I'm almost 100% positive that the pharmaceutical companies have a prescription for that. No, I changed my mind, I am 100% sure the pharmaceutical companies have prescription for that and in case the drugs don't work fast enough, there is mental illness diagnosis that will demand psychiatric intervention of the third kind. Hospitalization for his own good, of course.
