ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Former game show host and longtime animal rights activist Bob Barker has made a personal appeal to the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina to stop exhibiting bears in pit-like enclosures at three local zoos.

To be honest, the three zoos mentioned here, I've never been to.

However I have been to ones on the reservation that were A LOT WORSE.

Not sure how these got picked, as there are some others that will make you simply cry.

Imagine a large concrete pool with several bears in it. When you walk by, they start to dance and spin around, all the while with their mouths open begging for apples etc.

All of this was indoors, under fluorescent lighting.

My wife and I both talked for a while on how horrible that was. And then one day... Bob Barker of all people bring attention to it.
