I like the idea of customize ats for what we like maybe we could send some ideas over to the administrators to make ats more like firefox lol

The problem is that a significant number of people here just don't get particular issues.

Many proclaim "deny ignorance" when they are being ignorant themselves.

OP, I'm really with you on this issue.

I'm too on the verge of quiting ATS. I have other sites to look at. I really enjoyed ATS before, but now the noise is way upon the signal...

And the "ignore" button is quite useless, being limited to ten (yeah, I'm that bad, I put people on ignore!). What I've been asking ATS without results is the possibility of having a hide button on threads, because bad threads are clogging the recent posts page.
So far, a mod has banned my public post about it in a thread (yeah!).


As I said, I am on the verge of quiting (not that I think that ATS cares about me quiting).
And yes, I will look at the proverbial door on my way out.

Maybe it all started when Obama became President.
I know I for one have never felt worse about the President and the House/Senate.
People now just want to talk about politics and slam one side or the other.

My main interest though is occult research and I think there is not really enough of it here on ATS.
Is it because the people that figure stuff out simply do not want to share it?
You know Jesus was arrested and killed because he figured stuff out and shared it.
The higher ups thought Jesus should just keep it to himself, but no, Jesus had to talk about it and spread it around to the masses. Bad move. Arrest and crucifixion.

ATS is what it is. The quality of the discussion is limited by the people who participate, and for as many years as I've been around ATS has always had a large number of detractors. Sometimes you have to sort through a lot of trash to find a gem. ATS has been, is, and will probably continue to be this way.

If you cannot accept that, then try taking some time away. Odds are good it will still be here for you in six months.

Wow, do you play Second Life? i mean...we say that there..but heck I bet alot of games do..

That's why I stopped going to the 9/11 forums.

People have been so blinded by Right-Left duality that they cannot escape it but instead will fight tooth and nail against those who threaten that system. These are powerful illusions set up to divide people and they do their jobs well, even ATS is far from immune...

There's very little we can do about it though, other than be patient with those people who are still blind and attempt to awake them...

I am guilty of most of what you dislike on ATS. The part about not doing research is one fault I can't claim.

But when it's all over and done I'm very partisan about my beliefs and my dislikes.

I believe humans are just naturally partisan creatures.

Wait, which definition of partisan are you using? I looked it up and there are several different ideas about partisanship.

It would help me understand you more if you would please quote your source of the word partisan. Please give your definition of partisan.

I'm with you buddy,

I've been thinking of just shutting down my membership here..but I know I'll find something useful here eventually..


It went from a conspiracy theory website to a "I'm right you're wrong" debate....


The site isn't even fun to come on anymore. It just seems everyone is looking for a fight. Forget conspiracies, apparently members think they believe the "truth" when there is no SOLID evidence backing it up.


Oh well, maybe I will give up on this website..at least with the political threads...as they are always full of morons...

I have another website I can enjoy and it's all about uncovering reality..and seeing it the way it REALLY is. Uncensored.

Sadly, censorship is strong on ATS...so much for deny ignorance right?!

I know where you are coming from OP.
I've lurked around this site for years. Used to have another account long ago, I quit coming for some time and when I tried to log back in the account was no longer there. Must have purged unused accounts or something.
But I left for such a long time for the reasons you have stated.
It certainly hasn't gotten better. Like was previously said, the Deny Ignorance motto is pretty lame when things are censored or banned from discussing just because someone might be offended etc...
I remember this site when it used to be the best. Now it is just overloaded with BS.
I think one major problem is the fact that this is a conspiracy site yet the majority of the posts have absolutely nothing to do with any conspiracy or unexplainable things. It's gradually turned into a site for political and religious douchebags to argue back and forth over semantics and opinions.
This is supposed to be a Conspiracy site people!
Nothing good every lasts forever huh?

There will always be different points of view, different opinions and then there are the facts that each believes supports those opinions. That is called FREE SPEECH. You either learn to get along or you don't get to play in the sand box. Its pretty much that simple. Whinning and Crying about things does not imporve them. You have to be willing to get up off the sofa or out of the computer chair and spring into action to get things done. You can be part of the problem or part of the solution. That is soley up to YOU !

Our environment in today's word in general is very polluted - loaded with poisonous toxins at every level of scale from the nano to the macro ...

Why should an internet forum like ATS be any different ?

People are the same the world over ...

no matter how much you wanna leave, you won't. even if you do leave you'll be back in a few days. it's called the ats effect.

ATS may not be perfect, but it is the best out there at the moment.

The management are open to suggestions though, so if you think the place could be improved....make the change happen or act in a way that will encourage it.

I don't see the point in leaving what is a great site really, when you could stay and help make it even better than it already is.

If you find this place frustrating, all the best in the other dives i have seen around the net.

Absolutely anyone for another Obama birth certificate thread or prehaps a crop circle thread? Seems these two ideas are running rampit now a days on ATS, both topics of which have zero facts and should both be located on the BTS forum but whatever. I understand where your coming from and I couldn't agree more how about some intelligent research for once and not a bunch of ifs, ands, or buts.

Sometimes it helps to leave. I've done it a few times. But what I realize is that my frustrations have everything to do with me and NOT ATS. ATS is what it is. My response and reaction to it is what's important. They're the only things I can control.

Believe it on not, you don't have to respond to people who push partisanship or disinfo. You don't have to react to their agendas and lack of sources. But what you CAN do is provide quality contributions with credible research and sources, ignore the baiting and disinfo and make your experience here what you want it to be. You really can do it.
