LONDON (AP) -- Swiss drugmaker Novartis has begun injecting its swine flu vaccine into people in the company's first human tests, a spokesman said Wednesday.

The vaccine is being tested in a yearlong trial of 6,000 people of all ages in Britain, Germany and the United States, Novartis spokesman Eric Althoff told The Associated Press, adding that the vaccine will likely be on the market before the trial finishes.

A person in Britain became the first to get the swine flu vaccine about 10 days ago, he said.

Since swine flu was declared to be a pandemic, or global outbreak, by the World Health Organization in June, pharmaceuticals have been racing to get their vaccines ready. Last month, Australian drugmaker CSL became the first vaccine maker to start testing its vaccine in humans in Australia.

"We initiated clinical trials about 10 days ago," Althoff said.

Half of Novartis' vaccines being tested are grown in chicken eggs, the traditional way of making flu vaccines, while the other half use a new cell-based technology.

So, now first human trials, eh???

I wonder if we will hear of any bad issues???

"I believe", swine flu vaccine is "NOT" tam-a-flu.

As long as the people of any nations lay down to be their personal guinea pigs, the drug companies will use that. Why hurt a animal or cause undue stress when people seem so willing!

I don't know about other countries, but in the US....

First there are animal trials.....

If that goes well, they move to human trials......

This is done "BEFORE" the vaccine is allowed to be sold to the genreal public.

I will like to know if is a any site that we can go and get up today reports of reactions to the people on trials, but as with everything in the big pharma industry the bad results are always left to be known years later after the drugs has been approved.

Deception.

I agree.

However, honestly, no matter the actual results of the trials, I suspect we will only see the results of the sucessful trials.....

Also, I believe to see all the real side effects, we would need to see much larger numbers than clinical trials do.

I am talking in terms of millions if not more.

Lets both hope we are not smart, just parinoid, eh?

I'd love to know what sort of people allow themselves to be used as guinea pigs for a vaccine, that if it ends up being hamfull or even causing fatalities, there is no comeback for the maker?

I'm not against people testing vaccines on themselves, it's a great way to see if it's ok for the rest of us, but i just wonder if they remembered that the companies that made the vaccine don't owe them a penny if their life is messed up because of it?

Remember, no one is putting a gun to these people heads.....

They "MAY" be putting money in front of their eyes.....

These people are going in, eyes wide open.

Not that I don't fear for them, but they are making their own decessions and must live (or die) with the results of their decession-just like the rest of us.

CX,

its rather nice to see someone who shares my same sentiments toward the vaccine and how corrupt it is that Big Pharma gets protection while they dupe people that have been conditioned into thinking Swine Flu will kill them into volunteering for the vaccine.

Hopefully others will wake up too!

And you can bet that the testing they are doing now is with vaccine from chicken eggs - and not the "new" unproven CELL-BASED TECHNOLOGY!!

And don't get me started about the adjuvants they will later add to the vaccine.

So what the pesky pharma mafia is testing now is surely a vaccine already produced from chicken eggs with an added antigen for H1N1 and without the adjuvant Squalene!

But later! when the big sheeple mass will get their shots, they will receive:

A shot made from the (faster mass production) vaccine of CELL-BASED TECHNOLOGY - LACED WITH THE ADJUVANT SQUALENE.

A cell-based vaccine made of dead African monkey body parts!

Only God knows what kind of diseases could be included in the monkey cell-tissues? - they say that they are not going test the tissues before the production of the vaccine.

I'm not so keen on the idea of injecting myself with something which in theory could contain SIV and other monkey diseases etc.

Don't be silly! Those additives will be for our benefit.

But they haven't ever messed up with Swine Flu vaccines in the past.

I think you are being silly like me and leaving that tin foil hat of yours glued on your head for convenience

Please informe your family members your friends and anybody that listen the vaccine that is going to be tested is dangerous!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Novartis’s proprietary squalene adjuvant for their H1N1 vaccine is MF59. Glaxo’s is ASO3. MF59 has yet to be approved by the FDA for use in any U.S. vaccine, despite its history of use in other countries.

Per Dr. Nass, there are only three vaccines in existence using an approved squalene adjuvant. None of the three are approved for use in the U.S.

Squalene has not been approved by our governemnt to be use in the US but the vaccine test is in full gear and our children are the target.

Marge, doesn't any drug to be sold in the US have to "pass" animal and human trials???

Until then, is it not illegal to sell it in the US???

I amrefering to FDA rules and regulations.

Still none of the vaccines in the US have squalene in it, they has never been approved after the fiasco of what happen with the Gulf war vets and the denials that it was in the vaccines give to me in the middle east.

Gulf War veterans with Gulf War Syndrome (GWS) received anthrax vaccines which contained squalene.[ix] MF59 (the Novartis squalene adjuvant) was an unapproved ingredient in experimental anthrax vaccines and has since been linked to the devastating autoimmune diseases suffered by countless Gulf War vets.

The Department of Defense made every attempt to deny that squalene was indeed an added contaminant in the anthrax vaccine administered to Persian Gulf war military personnel – deployed and non-deployed – as well as participants in the more recent Anthrax Vaccine Immunization Program (AVIP).

Seems that NORVATIS love squalene in vaccines

If the squalene has been added to vaccines before why is still no approved in the US, why the denials.

Because is dangerous !!!!!!

I do knopw this, when you join the military, In the US, you are their property.

You lose the right to say no, basicly.

So shots for troops "may" not need pass civillian rules/laws/tests/trials.

Specificly, i don't know that chemical.
What does it do?
What do they claim it does?
Why is it added, their reasoning, please.

You are right on that, my husband got all kind of weird stuff from the first gulf war, and he even have an entry on his record that tells he was a Guinea pig to developing untested vaccines during the gulf war, he also had to sign a none disclosoure paper.

But we have a choice and we have to protect our children and the unborn.

Squalene: is a natural organic compound originally obtained for commercial purposes primarily from shark liver oil, though botanic sources are used as well, including amaranth seed, rice bran, wheat germ, and olives. All higher organisms produce squalene, including humans. It is a hydrocarbon and a triterpene.

In vaccine development, squalene has been used as an adjuvant, which increases the immune response of vaccines that would otherwise be too weak to offer protection. A squalene adjuvant was used in a cytomegalovirus vaccine.[1] Some animal studies have found adverse effects, such as weakness, from squalene, and some veterans have claimed that squalene adjuvant in vaccines was responsible for Gulf War Syndrome.

Squalane is a saturated form of squalene in which the double bonds have been eliminated by hydrogenation. Because it is less susceptible to oxidation, it is more commonly used in personal care products than squalene.

Studies also shown that it will attack the immune system because the squalene you ingest is not the same as the one they treat to be use on vaccines.

The difference between “good” and “bad” squalene is the route by which it enters your body. Injection is an abnormal route of entry which incites your immune system to attack all the squalene in your body, not just the vaccine adjuvant.

Your immune system will attempt to destroy the molecule wherever it finds it, including in places where it occurs naturally, and where it is vital to the health of your nervous system.
