You are not looking at the back. The plane is flying right to left. You are looking that the bottom left side of the craft at a perspective angle. Like this:

Don't blame your confusion on us.. Why would you think you are seeing the back? The aircraft is obviously flying right to left.

Anyway, here is some real examples. I circles the lights you see on the first aircraft, in blue.

LOL @ Those who think this is an unidentified flying object. It's people like these who explain why there is so many false UFO reports.

I just watched the media player video a few more times. That camera shaking & repositioning makes it extremely difficult to view in detail.

In the video, the trailing light seems to flash at about the same rate as a conventional aircraft light.

However in the still shots, the lights do not appear to be the correct colour for conventional aircraft navigation lights. I think that’s a function of the angle at which we are viewing the aircraft. Perhaps it’s also a function of the camera setting.

Also in one of the still shots, there appears to be an extremely vague hint of a "triangle" outline. You need to look carefully on a good monitor &/or enhance the image. I think it’s probably the normal pixilation (around the lights) that occurs in such cases. There is also a slight hint of the lights reflecting along the object.

On balance, I'm still 99.9% certain it's a plane. It's a pity the video isn't clearer.

Do you have a link to the MUFON report? I couldn’t find it on the MUFON site.

Triangle UFO?
Heck, all I saw was a circular UFO with 3 lights. Then, about halfway in the video it morphed into hexagonal UFO, but still, only 3 lights. Too bad OP couldn't see this because his screen doesn't allow him to see what's connecting the lights - only those of us that work for desinfo agencies have access to these screens that do let you see that.

But yup, a circular UFO that morphs into a hexagon makes this the best footage yet.

Your video makes it hard to argue against the op's video being a plane, so I'll have to move that extra 0.01% & say I'm 100% certain that's the case - it is a plane.

I'd still be interested to read a more detailed report, if the op provides a link (I couldn't find it on the MUFON site).

The facts are plain. You see the blinking indicator light, and when you turn the video's audio up, you hear the plane's prop with just the right Doppler effect for where it is in the video.

I'd say there are much better cases to study, but hey, if you wanna believe so much that it becomes religion (can't be reasoned out of erroneous belief), then more power to ya...you'll eventually find sompm...or not.

The problem is that it doesn't back up your assessment that, "Its so genuine, it will even have the skeptics uhmm'ing and ahhh'ing".

The only uhmm'ing and ahhh'ing I'm hearing is that of someone trying to point out something VERY obvious in the video itself that completely refutes this as evidence of an alien space vehicle.

If you can't reach that level of understanding, then you have no hope of ever being taken seriously...but perhaps that's thee objective. So be it.
