Obamas Birth Certificate

As you can tell I can care less about the topic I'm just glad that ATS has done the correct thing IMO and cleaned up the board. I hated wading through all the REPEATED recent posts to find something new.

I understand the need to follow reasonable guidelines to make threads meaningful. However, I don't understand this: "If your contribution covers current and breaking news coverage of the issue, please DO NOT use the breaking news forum..." If the breaking news forum is not to be used for breaking news, pray tell, what is it to be used for?

Sham thread
This thread makes a sham of the T&C. It is an obvious duplicate thread meant to take away from the prior thread, and to avoid opposition while everyone else is concentrating on the big thread.

That is absolutely incorrect.

It is NOT a duplicate thread meant to mock the one that initially brought the Kenyan certificate to ATS for discussion regarding its authenticity.

They are two entirely different threads that are simply "related".

The thread you are complaining about addresses the fact that the birther movement via Orly Taitz have submitted a forged document as evidence of the Presidents illegitimacy. It is an entirely different discussion from the Flyersfan thread which initially sought to simply verify the document as real or fraudulent and discuss the ramifications should it prove to be real.

The discussion of the release of the fraud by the birther movement (which is what the Southern Guardian thread is about) is all over the net: Google News Search.

Unless you think this Salon.com article that addresses the same points made in Southern Guardians thread is also meant to mock the Flyersfan Kenyan Document thread:Birthers release Forged Kenya Birth Certificate

Sorry but the disussion of the release of the fraud, the politics involved, and the agenda surrounding it is relevant and discussion worthy.

If you want to continue to debate the documents authenticity then you can still do so in the Flyersfan thread just understand that they are two different but related topics.

Might I suggest the Trash Bin for these threads?

Keeping ATS clean from useless threads.

Agreed

SkepticOverlord, thanks for finally setting this up. I was debating on taking a very long break from ATS because of this issue. Slugging past all the Obama was born in Kenya threads was beginning to be a real bore.

Harm None
Peace

Perhaps the gods on Olympus would consider adding a board dedicated to an 'Anything Goes' format? Let folks vent out and every once per month or so, take the fire hose and wash it clean.

Before entering this bloody arena, have members click an acknowledgment that Olympus (and the gods) are NOT RESPONSIBLE for anything said... also outlawing physical threats and such that would attract the stern attention of J Edgar Hoover's ghost.

After that, let the political gladiators put on a bloody spectacle.

It's not only the American way, it's the human way, no?

I second that emotion...

Skeptic, lets start the proposed forum, access will cost a one time payment of 1.25 million ATS points and a monthly fee of 10,000 ATS points.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Thank you so much!!

I nearly stopped coming to ATS because of all of the madness.

I'm really glad you're finally doing something about it.
