Very true, but a true genius does not think of themselves as genius in my opinion....and thats just my opinion. But think of it like this, they where genius's before they were labeled as such.

The difference between insanity and genius is a thing called success.

Fair enough. What then is "success"? Recognition? Income? Flattening as many foes as possible? Who's to tell a genius where they're successful?

I suppose by the usual occidental standards Tesla was somewhat of a failure. His success is that his legacy lives and impacts our lives to this day, if only because he was so right on about the A/C thing.

I agree with you that success has nothing to do with it. That is a value judgment. The uni bomber was successful at killing people to make a point. They called him a genius. 167 IQ too. But I believe his writings may have led to some efforts at change like he wanted. At least he had people who agreed with him. They wouldn't have gone to the lengths he did to make that point.
We learned a great deal from Hitler while he was "successful". After the fact. Some could have called him genius.
If the genius impacts us in any way and creates change or a motivation for change on a mass scale, it is what it is. A new way, a new thought, change.

We are taught that people are evil or insane just because they have a different way of thinking. It is just another form among many forms of propaganda.

If there were no such thing as propaganda, I have no doubt that there would be more people classified as genius instead of villain.

"Genius" is a nonspecific word that refers to a person with an unusual skill, talent, intellect, etc. It comes from the Roman word 'genius', which also referred to a personal spirit - a daemon in Greek. A person who had a brilliant idea was said to have been inspired by his genius.

Thanks Wikipedia.

Disclaimer: I am kidding, so don't take offense. It just seems like something from an encyclopedia, which is a compliment to some people.
