If you truly want to combat teenage pregnancy, stop teaching them SEX education. I think its as simple as that.

The pregnancy rate didnt go up until they started educating the kids about sex. Time to go back in time on this one.

Bad idea as far as I'm concerned. Oral sex=foreplay. What comes after foreplay? Hmm....Sex and if not careful pregnant women.

I have known some girls who could use lessons, I'm glad they're finally teaching this in school. This should make alot of young men happy.

If the idea is to cut down pregnancy, then I think they're going about it the wrong way. When they're being taught this, aren't they going to get just a little bit curious as to what the "end product" is like? Then what do you get? A lot more people getting inadvertantly inspired to try.

I am personally hoping these lessons will involve more on "what to look out for" like STD lesions/marks than any kind of methods and stuff like that.

I'm surprised that they are taking such a radical step towards getting teenage pregnancy rates down. What's so hard about using a condom? Or the morning after pill?

Well, geez, why don't they include anal sex, too? Oh yeah, I forgot...that's how lawyers are conceived.

It is necessary to teach people the dangers of promiscuous sex, so that they won't be surprised when they get an STD. That assumption is just innane.

The pregnancy rate didnt go up until they started educating the kids about sex. Time to go back in time on this one.
So the education did it, huh? You sure it doesn't have anything to do with scantily clad women on MTV and the lyrics degrading them? Or the sharp increase in sexual themes on regular television and in movies? I hardly think that sitting in a classroom listening to some crusty, old, washed-up health teacher talk about sex physiology is making these kids horny. Do you really believe that?

Oral sex education as a way of reducing teen sex rate is just stupid. Like I See You said, and I will say in my own way, getting your knob slobbed only makes you want to dip your stick more. That's the biology of it, in layman's terms. The whole idea behind it is to impregnate a female and perpetuate the species. Whoever thinks that oral sex classes will reduce risk of teen sex occurence obviously isn't getting any.

Morons, I hate 'em.

You know, when I was growing up, oral sex was, I thought anyhow, termed getting to "third base"? I find this article interesting in that 'someone' really believes that the teens of today need lessons in the 'arts' of oral sex? Incredible.

Whats even more unbelievable is this:

Encouraging schoolchildren to experiment with oral sex could prove the most effective way of curbing teenage pregnancy rates, a government study has found.

Holy cripes! Is this for real? Is there an online link to this particular report or study? Not attempting to offend anyone, but I guess next there will be a study or report advocating homosexuality or masturbation, being that these too would serve to "curb teenage pregnancy rates"?

Look:

The government has spent more than 60 million to tackle the problem but so far failed to halt the rise.

Let me see, so advocating and teaching oral sex is going to halt the rising pregnancy rates also?

*shakes head*
Won't be long before another 60 million+ will be spent trying to figure out why teaching oral sex as an alternative to preventing the rise in teenage pregnancy's didn't work.

Holy crap, it's SO not going to stop anything...

It'll just make the teens/children more horny that's all lol...

If they want a volunteer so the college girls can practice on, I can move to the UK...

wow

Yeah, raging hormones...and oral seax is gotta satisfy. Right. More like set the stage.
Esp. if you add a little something to drink or smoke.

The only way I know to REALLY curb pregnancy rates is abstinence. It may not be fun, but it works.

I really have nothing against sex if you are prepared for the consequences: disease, babies, and various labels you may hear--like being "easy".

I just hate for sex to be made so ordinary. It should be something special with someone you care about.
Not just getting your rocks off.
Back to masturbation, Seekerof. Although, we all know it causes hairy palms.

I found this link at the bottom of the original link.. quite disturbing if you ask me. They shouldn't even know anything about it at this age. Not even know the word?

Welcome to the 21st century! lol...

Nah seriously... I think it's only normal that when people understand how desillusiory love is, they decide to simply choose sex. I don't see anything bad in that.

And abstinence??? Come on. Just put condom-dispenser EVERYWHERE! lol...
