The videoclip show a FOX news report with the videofeed from the Mexican airforce. A 'Stephen Bassett' (not sure its spelled correctly) says the American government announing the disclosure. I found something about this guy.. if its him, the video is in 160x112 so its hard to see.

Hmm...at first I was almost convinced this is a hoax based on the "oil plant" explanation. It does indeed seem like these crafts are not moving in the air but are rather stationary on the ground somewhere.

However, what stumps me is the fact that later in the video, the objects can be seen flying through the TOPS OF THE CLOUDS. If these objects were on the ground, then we would not see the tops of the clouds, but rather the ground.

Again, this all depends on what angle the video was shot.

Comments? Is this really a hoax?

Its a hoax it has to be as if any goverment around the world are going to come out and publicly declear that there are aliens or that the footage is of UFO's.

Ummm... wouldn't this prove even more so that it isn't a hoax? A government wouldn't come out and say "This is real" and have it really be a hoax. It would totally discredit the whole mexican government. I think that is the last thing governments want to do, they want the people to believe in them and want their support. They would lose all that by publicizing a false story as accurate.

Well It looks like this case has been solved, turns out the UFO's were nothing more than flares on an oil platform, some pretty compelling evidence. It doesn't look like this was an intensional hoax, but an honest mistake by the pilots.

Kudos to the Mexican AF/gov for making this information public though.
I wish our gov were as forthcoming

I was channel surfing yesterday and caught some show on Univision which is a spanish-speaking sat station. They had some pretty incredible UFO video that looked like it was taken from a car driving down the highway in broad daylight. I don't speak/read spanish but Univision has a websight that maybe someone could investigate to see if they can find more info on the program.

Flares can be seen by the eye... Those objects could not... Also what flares can fly at rediculous speeds?

Were the 'objects' completely invisible in the visible light spectrum? If they were invisible, then, as A5H says, they cannot be flares/burners from oil stations. I have read that UFOs can alter the wavelengths of their craft somewhow, so that they appear invisible to the light that the human eye dectects.

The plane's crew must have also made a mistake when it appeared that the lights surrounded the plane.

At the middle of a complete confusion and disconcert among the C26A crew the unknown objects suddenly made a maneuver surrounding the mexican Air Force airplane in a circle at close range. The RADAR and FLIR presented an insolit image of an eleven objects near by in a circle formation around the Merlin C26A. The situation turned out of control.

Nevertheless...here's link providing a more in-depth analysis by James Smith:

OK I probably missed it but why would oil rigs shoot off flairs? A hot fire is not a good thing around crude/natural gas.

I like some of the info on rense.com, but alot of it is anti-semitic it seems. Alot of zion related conspiracies, too many for my liking. That and their writers have aliases with some questionable sources.

i cant remember what show i was watching but it was an investigative show where the were analyzing this footage and they followed the flight path where the investigators came up with the notion that those lights were smoke stacks of an oil rig. im thinkin disinfo.
