Dershowitz's Anti-Palestinian Slander

www.huffingtonpost.com

Last week, responding to international criticism of Israeli plans to build new Jewish homes in an Arab neighborhood of Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman "ordered embassies abroad to use a photo of Adolf Hitler meeting a top Palestinian cleric."

The decision to circulate a 1941 photo featuring the Nazi dictator sitting with the then grand mufti of Jerusalem Amin al-Husseini is aimed at easing pressure on Israel over a construction project on land in annexed east Jerusalem once owned by the cleric, [an Israeli] official told AFP.

That whirling Dershowitz, grand Mufti of litigious zionists, has declared the Palestinian people responsible for the Holocaust. In anybody's language, this is weird and should be considered the ravings of a delusional mind.

These outrageous claims are based on the efforts of Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, the Moldavian immigrant and former night club bouncer, who had instructed Israeli embassies to circulate the British appointed Grant Mufti's photo with Hitler as evidence of this complicity. It, of course, escapes these geniuses that the mufti was technically a British civil servant appointed to a colonial office to represent a dominant local faction. They also failed to note that the Mufti was reacting to the flood of Germans and other Europeans turning up in ships in Palestine claiming that his country belonged to them.

The accusations of of being an anti-Semite against a Semite is a retrospective description of the Mufti's attitude. In 1941, there was no mass genocide or Auschwitz so we do not know what the Mufti would have made of it. He simply did not want the mass immigration of Europeans coming to his country in the same way a right wing Republican objects to Hispanic illegal aliens sneaking in across the border.

Had he been fully aware of the crime of the Holocaust he may have even offered refugee status but we will never know. Britain, however, knew of the Holocaust as it was happening yet turned away Jews from Britain.

Anti-Semitism is a uniquely European expression of xenophobia and it is ridicules to attribute this mentality to cultures that did not give birth to it.
