It appears that everyone is feeling the effects of the economy even news publishers. With the decrease of advertising dollars, the news industry needs to find ways to survive. The way in which these publishers feel they need to survive is by blaming the Internet for their troubles. A total of 166 European publishers as members of the European Publishers Council (EPC) have recently signed the “Hamburg Declaration to Protect Intellectual Property Rights” in an attempt to enforce legislation that would somehow require readers to ‘pay’ for their news.

It was reported back in January of this year that the powers that be were looking for new ways to tighten up internet access to those of us who seek Alt News Sources that don't messure up with the MSM reporting. Their is even more and more talk about "Internet 2" as a means to control what the pubic is able to acces and forcing us to pay additional fees if we choice to surf the web. I just thought after reading this article it was a new update for us to keep aware of peices on the board of chess being moved while our backs are turned.

As an independant musician, I feel absolutely no sympathy for these people who feel things shouldn't come at a cost. I give away my music for free on the internet all the time. In fact, I encourage it. I make my money on the road.
there are always other ways to make the cash to keep your business going. Freedom of information for everyone (including myself), to me, is worth people enjoying my services for free. These fools don't care about informing people, they only care about selling adverrtising. This is the true method of control.

I have a very pessimistic outlook i guess, but i believe that the Internet is going to be a thing of the past, and when things really get too hot, so will all modes of communication.

I hope it doesnt happen, but i can see it coming soon.
