In reply to everyone else: eMachine, dizziedame, jean59, trams, kyred, beach bum, ronishia, I won't reply personally as my fingers will go into a cramp but thanks for your welcomes. I am enjoying my exploration of ATS and learning a lot though I cannot make any of my own threads yet even though I have made more than 20 threads? Anyone know why? I know I am lucky living in Bonny Scotland as a lot of it is unspoilt and you don't need to travel far to get to one place to the other as we live on an island. I have taken loads of photos so I will post some soon in my media library. Nice to meet you all.....

Your 'bonnie scotland' has gone through many phases of 'spoiling'. I appreciate your optimism but just 'cause it's green don't mean it's natural.
It's nice that you are here tho.

Hello
I recently did a bke run from glasgow to inverness going up the loch lomond/glencoe/fort william road.
The weather was great but just a bit to hot.
Stopped off at the usual haunts, the kings house hotel for a photo op of the Buachaille Etive Mòr.
Next day went to glenfinnan to have a look at the monument (not the hogwarts express train line that some people were looking for :barf

Another great place further up from ort william is the geat glen and invergarry.
I will ost some of my pics when a get round to downloading them from my camera.
Cheers J.

I am a true optimist and the views I see in Scotland are like nothing else in the rest of the world. I see the beauty everywhere here but the only thing to spoil it is the midge, a common biting insect that I am highly allergic too. England is spoilt as there is not much left that is trully left to nature. Everything has been commercialised and you see loads of visitors in crowded villages thinking that it is great.

I loved Fort William and Glencoe though never got a good pic of the Buchaille as it always rained the year I was there. Ben Nevis route was good as well as it is so remote and loads of areas to stop and take pics. The waterfall up that route is a chore to get too though. I have not been away this year as been too busy but hopefully before the weather turns? I think Scotland has the most beautiful scenery and in many places it is not commercialised. Edinburgh is the most touristy as well as Inverarary. Or beaches are great with a lot of surfers coming here to catch a wave and mostly the water is cleaner. Went to John O Groats and what a drive it was with practically nothing at the end of it. St Cyrus beaches are the best in eastern Scotland so big and well preserved. I could go on all night... Not much light pollution either once you get out of the cities. Good for UFO hunting or astronomy. Have you been to plenty of places with your bike?

Hello
Try to get out as much as i can on the bike.
Been a lot of runs to oban and over the connel bridge heading north to glencoe, nice stop off on the way to castle stalker.
I have been to skye in the car but not managed it on the bike so far.
Loch lomond is not to far away from where i stay and there is a few good runs around balloch and aberfoyle.
Speaking of touristy you cant forget callander...

Cheers J

I take it you live here in Scotland but don't like it. I hate the towns in Scotland so I hate a bit of Scotland as well. But when you get into the wilds of Scotland you can't fault its beauty.... I am trying to post photos to my media files so look out and you might like Scotland once again?
