I learned while being in ATS, that Christianity was not for me, and also that ATS helped me open my eyes to see the real world around me, and kept me away from the illusions that the PTB presented me... Also it showed me that when it came to UFOs, ETs, NWO, and Psionics, I was not alone

I've learned that some people believe just about anything you throw at them. It appears that a 'lot' of members fall into that category.....

I have learned that internet personalities are not representative of real personalities of the individuals in question. Everyone who gets online creates a new image of themselves that they portray to an online audience. It is interesting psychologically.

I try and be as authentically myself online as in RL.
I think the internet is a golden opportunity to share with
a larger group than those I actually meet in person.

Edited to add: However I am not the fabulous Zhan a blue alien,
except in the Space Opera which is fiction.

I've learned an incredible ammount. Firstly I know I am not alone in views that family considered insane. My intuition says we are on the verge of a new paradigm.

I no longer need fuzzy, shaky, out of focus, long off lights to believe we are being visited by ETs.

I've learned there are people thousands of miles away who are interested in my opinions and willing to take time from their busy day to provide suggestions.

More than anything ATS has helped me develop an absolute conviction that there is a God. Strange as it may seem, as my belief in ETs grew bases on anectdotal evidence, it became easier to believe the annectdotes of others who believed in God.

I have no desire to force my beliefs on anybody. As far as my spirituality goes, it has helped me immeasurably get through tough times. If anything about non-beleivers is my sense of loss for them.

I love ATS. Lurkers, nut jobs and bitter people make it more fun and help me know who I am by knowing who I am not.

I believe you! Sorry to have taken the liberty of grouping everyone together, my mistake.

But cindymars, you have a beautiful blue alien face and that is how I shall always remember you.

I've learned that everything is a lie, the media is a lie, the bulk of articles on this site is a lie, everything we know is a lie. Why? Because the truth is staring us in the face, right between the lines. I've learned that with every lie comes a piece of the truth. You have to scrape the truth from the bone, scrounging for the next truth in order to ever come close to what one would even call complete truth. I've learned we are stuck in this system of wearing collars and ties like dogs, squandering our lives to get stuff we don't need, to buy away the next problem. It seems the majority of people have no drive towards anything, only to accept being screwed over by anyone resembling a point of authority because they're too frickin' scared of losing anything or everything. We all want to be millionaires and famous, to be on the cover of the latest magazine but yet we only suspend ourselves in an infinite cycle of consumerism. The threat is not communism; it's consumerism, not even fascism, but consumerism. Everyone seems to think ‘Oh we’re becoming a communist, or fascist state’ but I disagree. Looks to me like they’re just taking a piece of every type or form of government whether it is socialism or communism, and piecing it together to fit their own agenda. I’ve learned that we are the middlemen of history, our Great War is a spiritual one, and our Great Depression is our lives.

I've also learned alot about extra terrestrials and other interesting topics that I have been curious in. I hope to one day stumble upon the truth.

Thank you Gormly for that warm response. Finding out about Empaths did not make me feel special, however it did explaine things. While I haven't been a member long enough to know all about ATS I decided to seek other member opinions. Yours is by far the most deeply felt. Respectfully, Magantice

I understand what you are saying but then I simply ask this.

What about all of the previous examples and facts displayed on this site and verified in many cases by the very government and MSM bodies that perpetrated the acts in the past showing how we have been lied to, manipulated and mislead? And yet, just because they say that they aren't lying now we simply have to fall in step? You see, many of us have come from the life of believing everything the mainstream says only to find out that there are underlying factors like greed and power that still seem to find their way into the mainstream. Just because all of the stuff that was admitted to happened decades before doesn't mean it isn't happening now. (Wow, a double negative, sorry guys.)

Just thought I would try to make that point. Lie to me once...errrmmm.....dozens of times and I find it hard to believe you the next time you start pushing for something like......errrrmmm.... wars in foreign nations and such.

Oh, I don't doubt that there are times that the full truth about the world is not reported by the MSM. Especially when it comes to national security, wars, and military secrets. I'm 100% convinced that there is secret military hardware that has never been reported on by the MSM (and that is probably because the MSM is not being told the truth, either)

HOWEVER, I also don't doubt that alternative news websites are also repeating (and creating) news that is not truthful. It would be extremely naive to think that alternative news sites -- just because they are "alternative" -- are more likely to be truthful. Most of the time people believe those websites ONLY because what they say agrees with their pre-conceived notions.

For example, someone who believes in ET will likely believe an ET story reported by Jeff Rense solely because the story is about ETs -- and not because the story can hold up under scrutiny. This happens all the time here on ATS: threads about alien abductions are guaranteed to get multiple stars and flags, and not because of any "evidence", but only because of the subject matter.

I don't automatically believe everything I hear in the MSM. I use my own logical reasoning and, more importantly, my own research to support what I think to be the truth. It just so happens that what I see as the truth is "often" -- but not always -- what the mainstream says is the truth.

Are governments hide the truth about some things? Sure they do. Does that mean that everything the government tells us is a lie? Of course not. Does an alternative news site always tell the truth? Of course they don't. A person needs to use their own skills of critical thinking to find which is which.

Like I said in my other post, I think the people who blindly believe alternative news only because "what they report is cool and interesting" act more like "sheeple" than the rest of us.

I want to thank each and every one of you for takeing the time to tell me what you have learned from ATS.

This is where I wish to end the thread. Yes the truth is in between the lies.

I will not be posting any more threads myself. In posting a thread , I found that the negativity it prompted actually made me physically sick. I will continue to learn from others.

Thank you all again, Respectfully, Magantice

Magantice, I'm so sorry that some of these comments by members caused you physical illness. Yes, I understand. It happened to me too, but I'm a hard-head and push back when attacked. For a soul with kindness these kinds of heartless comments really do cause physical reactions. I'm sorry to see you not posting anymore threads. "This one did just fine.

I totally agree with you, some people here can be very vindictive,
truly showing no compassion to others!! You have to be better
than they are, lean toward more positive issues, don't let them
bring you down!!

Don't leave ATS just because of others.

I often get physically sick due to the lack of scientific knowledge and critical thinking here on ATS. However, I feel I can -- in my own small way -- help meet the goals of ATS' mission statement of "Deny Ignorance" by doing my part to help educate some people.

I have learned to question everything, absorb everything and mull it around both sides of the brain and see if it jives.
Research is under rated, and as afor mentioned that ATS people like to be spoon fed info.
I found that I am empathic, or more of a re-realization. The world is a strange place and every human is funny in their own way. I have solidified that this earth is not my home planet, and most humans make me laugh with their actions.
I found that most people here have really bad grammar issues, my self included. I think that most people here have speed up their typing speed just to get that post on the board asap so they don't miss any other replies and by virtue of increased speed comes less accuracy. More often then not, posters will hit reply before they hit preview to read what they are posting.
I found that there are some really ignorant people on these boards, but there are also very smart people on these boards. I also found that, for some people, all of the hard evidence in the world will not convince them that their line of thinking is flawed.
I found that a thought is like a diamond, and that most times people only focus on one facet. I found that many people here really turn the diamond to try to see all points, all sides, and by doing so, they form much better conclusions then those that only focus on one facet. Then, they can see the issue or thought clearly and can extrapolate and help others to navigate the surface to see the diamond as a whole.
I also found that I am really smart, but even I know that I have much more to learn and discover and that the day you stop learning is the day you die, whether you physically (as in the body) dies or not. I know that I have too much to do before I die.
I also know that a majority of the time, you had better have done your research to back up any claims, but with theories, not so much, as long as you have stated them as such.
I know that i can be very long winded at times, and don't post often, which may or may not change in the future. I know that I am not alone, even when I feel very alone, and these boards are filled with my best friends, my worst enemies, conservators in passing, and people that challenge my beliefs on an almost daily basis.

ATS keeps your mind and brain working to past full capacity, and as well it should.

I've learned that there are still people that even though they disagree can still have a decent sharing of opinions with no intent, and that by doing so; at times brings about differences that can cause one to reconsider their own beliefs and opinions.

Also learned that I'm not the only one argueing with the voices and losing

whats that you said?
I didn't say that
Yes you did

I have learn that to control and understand crowds and human minds is sooooo hard. In Forums like this people really looks like a crazy loud bunch of organism to me.

But maybe I learn these too:

1. Internet abstracts you from your real identity
2. You can speak more freely in ATS
3. ATS doesn't like Christian & horror story
4. UFo is very well fancy
5. ATS is The FBI with a mask or maybe the NWO
6. ATS got cool graphics
7. ATS look like Mac OS 8.6
8. ATS denies ignorance
that one is for the hardworking people behind this forum.
9. What is the reality/fact/truth? is it out there at all?
