Re-using lunar rovers?

I saw Moon Machines episode about the lunar rovers on Discovery Science Channel and i wonder if they could be fitted with a new battery pack like lithium-ion so that they can be re-used?Can new modern bolt-on type parts be put on them to make the perform better?

While certainly a possible cost-saving idea...it seems, at first...I think it'd be far more expensive to attempt a retrofit!!

Besides, the hardware should best be left "as-is", as a museum.

The headaches involved in trying to restore 40-year-old equipment would seem to be not worth it!!
