Military Developing Half-Robot, Half-Insect 'Cybug' Spies

www.foxnews.com

Scientists can already control the flight of real moths using implanted devices.

The military and spy world no doubt would love tiny, live camera-wielding versions of Predator drones that could fly undetected into places where no human could ever go to snoop on the enemy.

The HI-MEMS program at the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has to date invested $12 million into research since it began in 2006. It currently supports these cybug projects:

— Roaches at Texas A&M.

— Horned beetles at University of Michigan and the University of California at Berkeley.

Wow. This is truly Sci-Fi turning Sci-Fact! There's no telling what could be done with this. And since this is now in the news, what could "their" current projects be?

Isn't there scripture in Revelations depicting LOCUSTS WITH THE FACES OF MEN??!!!

yeaaaah buddy...

Rev 9:7-And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

So...My buddies dad does some R&D for the DoD...ive seen stuff sorta like this a few years back...I'd dare say they have perfected it by now. TI misread the thread these are actually real bugs... what I'm on about was tiny robots that kinda could be mistaken for bugs that are attracted to sound. Sorry no proof on the matter or anything.

Really, isn't this all sort of scary? It is to me, anyway. And add into the mix that a company is developing robots that can be killers on the battlefield and get a supply of power from organic materials, such as wood, plants, and gasp, human bodies. John Connor we need you here today.

Just a note. I am not scared for me. I am scared for my children and grandchildren. My wife says, "Maybe we shouldn't have brought children into this world." And I say, "Maybe, we have brought a saviour into this world."

ive been hearing about this coming out of darpa for at least 4 years + now

pretty old news

yet disturbing none the less, i dont necessarily like killing bugs anymore

but these give a whole new spin on the slang term bugs

who knows what small little insect in your house is relaying information back to whomever now

honestly we all saw this coming

but is it really the best idea?

we've all wanted to be a fly on the wall at some point, only now, we actually can be

hey, i wonder if that is what i saw last year. i was taking out the trash and i noticed a large fly on the hood of my car. i got scared and stepped back. i starred at it and then i got closer. its head turned two times. it looked wierd. i mean , it looked like a fly, but how can a fly be a little bit smaller than my fist. i starred at it and went to the garbage can to see if i could find something to hit it with. i found a telephone book and i threw it at it and missed. the thing flew past my head and it scared the # out of me. the next day i told the neighbor.

We all know that they are developing all these things to be used on CIVILIANS at some future point in time.
They can't say that of course, so they hide behind the old MILITARY to make it sound like our enemies will cop it instead of us.
