But how would people who don't speak English post? Automatic translators are really, really bad, and the burden on the CPU's of the server would be immense.

Perhaps if it was linked into google translator, but I can't see the ATS server ever doing this. I could be wrong.

Good idea though

IN a perfect world, it would be an awesome idea that would help bring us all together.

The sad reality of automatic translation is that the posts here would be almost gibberish. Sometimes, I don't even understand the English that people speak, I can't imagine what a mess a machine would make of our posts!

Or maybe there could be a section for people who speak another langauge to post about whatever they want.It would not be as organized as the english ATS but i guess it's better than wishing that you could take part in the disscusions because your english is limited.

Let's make a good translator ! When it's done we sell it and we make a big money !

But I'm not sure William have enought time to start programing an English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanses, Arabic and Woloff translator !

I'm sorry, I'm a kid !

No, it's simple in fact (But I think our friends GOGGLE wont like that ) :

Let take the altavista translator :

script type="text/_javascript" "JavaScript1.2" "http://www.altavista.com/help/free/inc_translate"
/script
noscript

It's quite long and difficult to program a translator.
You need at least 20000 to 50000 words and idiomatics expressions to translate.

Respecting grammar, orthograph...

Maybe we can use as a basis an open source spellchecka.

At the top right of the screen there should be a "1 u2u" or similar text, which you must click on. Please read this before posting again

Nans, language is so complex.Do you think that it will ever be possible? I have my doubts.

There's so many dialects and slang, and unique words that wouldn't be in a dictionary that I don't think a computer will ever be able to translate without riuning the meanings of the words.

I'd like to see a better effort than the ones that exist now.
