A Prayer Request from Jesus to his father as recorded in the book of John:

I use to be christian, until things (MANY) simply stopped adding up. One of those things was simply this; if Jesus prayed to his father that his followers would BE ONE even as he and his father WERE ONE, then why has that prayer request never been granted.

Each denomination considers themselves to have the right doctrine, and points their finger at the other denominations, saying, "we agree in many things, but on this one issue (insert favorite dogma here) YOU are wrong and we are right". Even WITHIN the denomination, there exists differences in interpretations of biblical passages. I JUST DON'T GET THIS ONE TINY BIT. I THOUGHT THE HOLY SPIRIT WAS SUPPOSE TO TEACH EVERY DISCIPLE THE SAME TRUTHS TAUGHT BY JESUS. Aren't the interpretations suppose to be provided by the Comforter?

So what happened? Is Satan's power greater than the father? the holy spirit? Would there BE denominations if the Comforter were doing it's work? If the father had granted Jesus prayer?

Mark 3:25 And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Apparently the world does not believe BECAUSE YOU ALL HAVE DIVIDED THE HOUSE ! ! ! Shame on YOU all

Christ IS the way. It is simply a state of consciousness described in many different ways in all religions throughout. A union of "The Trinity". It certainly wasn't his last name....lol.

There is NO Hell!! NO Devil. Both are vehicle to inspire FEAR in order to control us. Can you honestly imagine a force capable of opposing God??!! The very theory is contradictory to what we say we know of God. Yet even still most "Religious" people deny this truth. Jesus said nothing of the Devil or of a soul being put in "A place called Hell" for being a sinner. To SIN means to already BE in Hell. It means to create suffering for oneself and in turn for others.

Thomas Paine said it best "The EARTH is my country, MANKIND is my Brethren, to do GOOD is my Religion."

Do you think of yourself as a good person? If so, what have you done in the service of another that didn't in some form benefit you? Can you think of anything? If your answer is nothing then your thought of yourself being a good person is only that. A CONCEPT. There's a difference in knowing the path and walking the path.

Now that has got to be one of the most astute revelations I have ever seen... You gotta ask "why, did anything else he did was met with instant response, but not THAT". And don't forget, not only is it divided into denominations, it's also rich against poor, black against white ("God wanted the races separate..."), my personal ways of worship against yours, the list goes on IN EACH INDIVIDUAL CHURCH, YET.. Is the Christian religion that screwed? I'd say yes, myself. All the things I personally have witnessed, all the stuff others have told me about.... And the thrown in problem of each individual over the top Christian who is so freaking "holy", his crap doesn't stink one iota... AND the money grubbing televangelists and other 'holy men and women of God'... Go find the Ray Stevens song "If Jesus wore a Rolex" for an idea there.

I'm going to be incredibly blasphemous (to the entire religion) and say that Christianity as it is now is nothing more than a giant good old boys club, a giant money making scheme, and a giant fraud for only certain people to enjoy the fruits from. It is sickening how the ones up top have built riches for themselves on the backs of the poor who shell out bucks for nothing more than false hope- which they cling to like a shipwrecked person clings to the floating debris in a raging ocean. It's almost like a pyramid scheme- but instead of stocks being sold, miracles and answered prayers are being sold. And the majority of 'investors' get far less than nothing- except to get to sit in the pretty building their $$ went to pay for..... And watch Pastor or Minister or Reverend drive by in that expensive car their $$ paid for... Or see that suit their $$ paid for....

It is becoming real clear why all the Christian women have found reasons not to be your girlfriend or wife. I am thankful to be 'equally yoked' to a husband who loves Jesus like I do, and is thankful for the simple blessings we enjoy. Bitterness and whining are no fun to be around.

Well, Back to the OP: Anyone claiming to be the messiah, or enlightened, is not at all. If you were either of them, you wouldnt have to say you were. Jesus may or may not have been an actual person, Im not sure at this point(Correct me where I am incorrect), But he was no more than a normal person, like you and I.

Hell, I could go right now, and create a little religion, which we could call Pollytheism. Now, I say Pollytheism is the belief that God is a parrot. If I get enough followers, and make some great speeches, It will become as big as Christianity.

Does this make my religion correct at all? Hell no, It just means people are taking a hell of a leap of faith... Then we could Duke it out, I could have us carry out a crusades, and We could be even:?

Satan is real. He is the vehicle for all of mankinds immorality.

Its not the beliefs that are bad. Its the institutions on which they're based.

The belief that Jesus Christ died for our sins is the only way. But you have to humble yourself and actually believe this. Accepting Jesus into your heart makes you a christian. This goes for all people who lived after Jesus' death, and according to the gospels, this is the ticket to heaven.

Not just belief in God. IMHO. Imagine the crowds Jesus ran around with...imagine you telling them, "He isn't the messiah". They would probably cast you out of the town. Or stone you. Times were way tougher then. People were more serious once he died and rose again.

But, I am merely human and I don't know everything.

This has been my question since I was a child.

Why have all these people followed a Middle East religion instead of there own beliefs? Jesus his teachings are the way not so you can repent your sins to him. The reason why we call him a certain gender is because he was a man.

We are all mankind and all have the ability to find the source of the truth as Jesus did.

Its inside us all.
