If you've watched this without foe-ing me, congrats, if you ignored me, you have my boo and hiss now.

I've watched this a hundred times, and it rings true each time.

My favorite part, is when he mentions people like you, those who stand silent, while the extremist go out and kills slaughter people, if you don't stand against it you stand for it.

The video is humourous, so you can at least have a laugh, and I will add some Dawkins Interview in here for the ones seeking a little knowledge.

Hey, that was pretty good! He started strong anyway.

NO Dawkins quote's please, don't need the "Evangelical Atheist" chiming in.. LOL

But so much of that video is so true. SOME people take religion to the extreme and it is so used as a control factor in the 3rd world today as it was in Europe a few hundred years ago.

Hi liveandlearn/

Fear of God is good!
It actually is free will.
Why is it free will?
When one has Love for God and looks at Gods creation, how cannot he/she fear God when He says that ''I hold the Keys '' to heavan and hell?
It is in the best interest of mankind that He says to Fear God,not out of malice!
Out of Love for Mankind, God took Flesh and became Man to save man which brought literal DEATH to all mankind...
In FEAR of God...one also does the Will of God....not out of fear of being bashed, but in fear of God as HE is the Judge of mankind, and therefore having this FEAR of Him, we look at doing good for OUR benefit and OUR Free will.
Eg/We dont get people committing murders because of revenge, as this would have them be committed to Jail by MANS LAW!
Some actually have no FEAR at all...and this alone gets people into trouble.
We are told to fear nothing...is this a good thing, or a bad thing?
I guess it depends on how one is to look at what type of fear it is...Are we using fear as a control mechanism to control others?
Does this not go against man's free will?
Fear is a good thing when used for good intentions...the end result should be Free will, and not fear 'scare tactics' of holding someone against their free will.
Is FEAR being used on mankind today?
You be the judge of that!
When fear is used for the good of one, then it is truly beneficial and not some type of control...
Hope Im making sense...?

"Christ arose,
having loosed the pangs of death....(Literal DEATH was brought by SIN)
because it was not possible for him to be held or conquered by them" [Acts 2:24...Although as Man,he was also in FEAR of His HUMAN form that feared GOD in being not able to be with God?(He as Human felt pain and suffering, but was immune to Death as He was God!)
"stricken and afflicted" Isaiah 53:5....God was needed to DESTROY what brought DEATH to all of mankind...as this was also Prophesied Old Testament.
It was only God who was able to do this,as the Son(human nature)of God...
Man went against God, so God became Flesh to Save man of Whom He created.
Did God have to save man?
No, but as God loved what He created, He chose to DIE a HUMAN Death to free man of the Old Testament curse, which came upon man.

Without the Resurrection, we have no hope.
If no Resurrection took place, then we too have been fooled and will see DEATH...death is something MAN cannot escape..whether Rich or Poor, slave or free....our bodies will simply fill back the earth as from which they were created!
The Soul of man is what goes back to whom Gave it.

I agree with him, but on the part "you liked" at the end, he was just a tad bit off.

It's not that people don't say anything or whatever that is the problem. It's that people see in terms of groups. And because they see in terms of groups, it allows the extremists/evil people to hide within the group.

When you go to mention the bad things done, the group will then parade the exception in your face. Oh, they aren't bad, so you end up being wrong. And so the guilty among them end up not being called. Because when you addressed the group, you addressed them all and falsely accused some. So it's just a matter of showing your false accusations, and you become discredited.

Where as if instead of charging the group with collectivism, you had instead charged the specific actions of the specific people, then they wouldn't have anything to hide behind.

And so, status quo is to keep things in terms of groups, collectivism. Then those who control public opinion(media) are able to point out the specific parts of the groups they want, in order to use the actions of that individual to paint the specific group. And that is exactly what he did as well.

So, for the "enemy", those who manipulate highlight all the people and actions that will be percieved as bad. While all the while highlighting your own good things, and hiding the bad. Each side does this, and then you get 2 sides ready to war.

But it happens in tons of other things. Elections, public issues, opinions and so forth.

So it's not even really a religious problem, religion is merely 1 symptom/tool of which to polarize people with. There are tons of other things it's done on too, race for example, nationalism, sex, even what your favorite baseball team is.

Do you really think if religion just disappeared things will be magically fixed? Not a chance, because religion isn't the real problem. It's the level of thinking people are using that is the problem.

Religious extremism is merely a symptom of a much deeper cause.

Naw.....saw it, but was not impressed.

Didn't even crack a smile throughout the whole thing. And not just because my beliefs don't match up. I enjoy Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, even some George Carlin, and they are all known for their cavalier treatment of God and religion. I can find humour in those.

There didn't even seem to be a clear message. What was he saying? "Don't be violent"? "Don't pretend to be peaceful when you're not"? There seemed no point to it other than being reactionary, and it didn't really achieve that. I doubt anyone watching it would be incensed of pissed off any amount above normal. I certainly wasn't. Didn't challenge my beliefs in any significant way. Didn't do anything at all, actually, considering the "warning" you gave at the start. I'm not going to "foe" you, or put you on my ignore, or put an insulting comment on the youtube link, or rate it poorly. It didn't affect me at all, and I'm pretty "fundamental" in my beliefs.

I believe and God and do not fear him. I have reverence and faith and patience and hope and love. Is my life perfect? Of course not. I have struggles within and problems like everyone else. But my faith in God is what keeps me going. However, I do not agree with the actions of the Church. God indeed gave us all freewill, so by what Authority does any one claiming to be of God have to force another human being to believe in God and at the same time say if ya dont ya burn in Hell? A true follower of Christ, a Christian (def. Christ-like), does not have to mention Christ at all. His or her actions should speak volumes, enough so that a non-believer would ask why they act the way they do and whats that feeling that is felt when around them. That is when the door is opened and the true Christian can proceed to explain the concept of Christianity. It is all about LOVE. That is it. Nothing more, nothing less. God is love. God is forgiving. God is understanding. God is the feeling you get when your child is born.

God is the feeling you have inside when you make a sacrifice to help someone else. God is the feeling you get when you suddenly smell flowers but yet no flowers are around. God is the feeling you get when someone you care about looks you in the eyes and says I love you or everything will be ok. God is the feeling you get when a friend OR stranger helps you in a time of need whether they knew you needed it or were completely unaware of your situation. God is the feeling you get when you screw up and you are told its ok we all make mistakes. God is the feeling you get when your pet comes up to you for no apparent reason and gives you love and affection. God is the feeling you get when you overcome an obstacle that you seriously thought would be your last. That is what God is all about. And there is no pressure to run to Him. Take your time and test the waters. Because God is also patience.

meh, the usual middle class, self satisfied, atheist because i think it's clever rant. it's not particularly funny or original. he's trying to be offensive but i'm left feeling a bit bored, which doesn't surprise me having seen this guys routines before.

do a search for eddie izzard or bill hicks for some insightful and interesting observations on religion and religious beliefs. if you want a good rant on god, try george carlin, the actual jokes in that video is ripped off from george carlin anyway, so why not go to the source.

i'm left feeling just a little curious as to what this has to do with a conspiracy.

Speaking of Bill Hicks. Here is the complete video of Revelations if anyone hasn't seen it before. Even George Carlin has taken stuff from Bill Hicks, among many others. Best comic to ever live IMO.

Eddie is pretty good too, I have a DVD of his. I like the way he tells history in his jokes. Good stuff.
