I don't get it....your avatar is "tree of peace" where you have dark and light skinned children walking together and you hold bigotry towards gays? You have some reconciling to do if you want to seriously work towards a more peaceful planet.

I cant believe in 2009 this is even being discussed. Why do so many Americans seem to think if you give homosexuals the same rights as eveyone else eveyone will want to be gay? It isnt a fkin choice.
And why is it being treated as a growing problem that could get out of control, you people need to read some history, start with the ancient Greeks.
You dont need to be so scared, it isnt a desease that will spread untill we`er all rearranging our furniture and cooking quiche`s, it isnt "straight V gay there can be only one"

For all those who have posted, I thank you for your comments. Wether I agree with them or not, this thread has stayed on topic and has little to not personnal attacks.

Proves my hypothesis.

When you start a thread with bigotry for a certain subject, you receive positive responses. A well thought out and tactful OP, usually results in a bashing, when the product hits a little too close to home.

Be VERY careful what you say on here about gay people. I don't care either way. But there are those who spoke out just about feminism on here in a negative way and their accounts mysteriously disappeared just after starting the threads or responding to them negatively. I was contacted once by a guy who this happened to and he said he investigated the reasons and others who this happened to as well and apparently this has happened quite a bit. i looked up some of the negative feminism threads on here and sure enough, the authors are no more. I couldn't imagine what would happen to your account were you to speak out on THIS topic negatively.These are topics that are handled by every government and there is no clear right answer......but they do illicit responses of hate in a person and when you act on this hate here on ATS even in just a negative tone or even to defend your statements why you get attacked, it doesn't matter..........your account mysteriously disappears. It seems here on ATS you can discuss Aliens and UFOs and Underground bases etc. and say whatever you want......even to the point of disrespect.....but feminism, gay topics ......basically the current standing movements of the (so called) oppressed?.....speak out on here about these and get into a debate and see how quick you lose your account. Be very careful here peeps, this is what they call "treading on thin ice". So..........I guess, we still have ``Freedom of Speech......but just watch what you say.``

Define Normal..... Anyone with common sense should no that no two people are the same so who is to say what is normal when there is no norm.

Just because some one has different sexual feelings than you does not mean they want more than equal rights....

You want them to "Be like everybody else" How is that even possible? As I stated above no two people are the same.... So how can some one be like every one else when every one else are different too?

EVERYBODIES sexual interests are different too. Some like men, some like women some like older partners and some like younger Some like tall and some short... No two people share the exact same sexual interests... so why is it that you expect a group of people to be exactly like "Every one else" Which I have already pointed out is impossible?



Why is it that it is OK for you to have what ever sexual orientation you have but not OK for others? Who are you to claim that gay men are incapable of making a baby naturally? They too could have sex with a women just as well as you only they do not because their sexual orientation leans the other way.

I ask this... What are you afraid of? What will happen if we treat the gay community with the equal rights that they are constitutionally garaunteed? How will things be any different if we honor their rights? I will tell you... Things will be better because it will be one step closer to true equality peace and harmony. One step in the right direction.

we, gays, have an agenda. mine is to furnish my kitchen with those items from crate and barrel that i was not able to register for as me and my partner cannot marry (so i have to pay for this @*&% myself). anyway, here's the secret. for every straight person we convert to the "gay lifestyle" i get a toaster. for every 10 i convert i get a cuisinart and for every 25 straight people convert i get a barbeque. so now you now...

what about bisexuals? at one time they had to cross the divide and that was a choice they. What aboput straights that do it on the "downlow" they have gays sex all the time many just kinda got more comfortable with it and have it all the time . What about downlow guys on oprah that did it exclusively with guys but insisted they were straight, then after years they went back to woman. The social contructs that kept all this in check have been ridiculed down by militant gays, the population started relaxing their views on gay sex but now we are starting to regret it.

I am what you call a "straight father". I have a daughter and I teach her tolerance, is there something wrong with that? The place me and my wife are choosing to raise our kid (and kid on the way) is a very diverse place (the bay area) and we want our kids to be open and accept everyone in this world. Diversity is beautiful.

Is there something wrong with tolerating people who are different? To me there isnt. And my kids will never in a million years be taught that they shouldn't tolerate people (unless they are bad people).

I donno maybe I misread your whole post, I read it really fast.

And I know plenty of gay people and none of them go around and try to teach "gay sex" to people lmao. Thats just rediculous. But like I said maybe I misread your whole post, I'm in a hurry.

Edit: I just read a little bit of that link you posted and there is no way that is taught in any schools. That was probably ONE SINGLE CASE and that guy probably got in trouble.

I am willing to bet even most gay guys would tell you that isn't appropriate to teach in schools.

ATS's bias for gays is legend but it isn't their policy. I think of tht happened it was most likely they either deserved it or a the ats clique got the best of another. I know what ya mean though I was very worried about John Matrix in another thread where they had even had gays request banning him. The gay and lesbian threads are pretty hard to get involved in and come out without a alert being made about bigotry and hatred all that. Lot of times I have seen many never post again after a gay thread but says there still members .

But I think many from the UK have a much different culture and if you don't know it or aren't aware of it , that can be a bite in the arse

well let me ask you this "dad",, you seem like a level headed intelligent person, respectful of others, etc. How would you feel if you knew you were someone most others were always talking about having to tolerate you? I don't wanna be a pain in anyones ass (no pun) but if I heard everyone had to tolerate me and then I found out they were because I insisted they do?

Well I agree that stuff in that link in his post a page back or so shouldn't be taught to kids (I only read a little bit, but from what I read should no be taught to kids, that isn't right). Why should you teach kids about spitting and swallowing seamen? That is disgusting and that isnt sex education.

Maybe you didn't read the link and that isn't what you are talking about, but if what was transcribed in the link is from a real sex ed class in a school, I have to say that is COMPLETELY inapropriate and I bet even most gay people would even say that.

Sex education is teaching kids how to use condoms correctly and teaching kids about the reproductive organs and stuff..

HOWEVER there is NO WAY IN HELL what was in that link is being taught in schools. I bet that was one single case and I bet that teacher got in trouble.

I am all for teaching tolerance and everything. But you don't have to teach kids about oral sex and giving oral sex and stuff like that. That is just wrong and thats not what sex ed is for.
