You're so very informed. You approach a subject empirically like a scientist and work your theory until you get to the root of the problem. Wow! I am impressed with your powers of deduction. You, my friend, are so very right in both your conclusion and your means of getting there.

As it seems that many on this thread do not get sarcasm, allow me to explain, this is sarcasm.

Lest we forget the incident at the church - the gay peeps decided to storm a church and began making out in front of the congregation, throwing condoms everywhere and tearing the place up.

It's like they were saying 'if you don't accept us, we'll cause damage to your churches'.

That incident made me more determined to not accept them - if I was ever going to anyhow.

I read through part of it but i think I am missing your point. Could you tell me what you expect me to glean from it?

What a mod having a different opinion to you makes it a conspiracy, get off your high horse mate and let them have a say also'.

Really, I think you are being oversensitive to words. You are trying to make it sound like i am saying something bad when i am not.

I don't want to paint you as bad...and I place much credence in the choice of words and phrasing on internet communications. I avoid 'negative interactions' as a result...

I still contend that normal is a subjective term and can be interpreted as negitive even when intended as an innocuous term...and there is nothing in the world that stipulates that any one way is the best and only way.

In fact, the world and our reality thrives on diversity.

BobbyLove...you are kind of funny...but not the kind that is normally funny in my circle of experience...

Did I just stumble into the twilight zone? You people need serious help and not the kind of help a doctor can fix. Why are you so afraid of gay people? Aren't you really afraid to face those feelings you are trying to suppress? Nobody is superior to anyone, we are all equal and all should share the same rights.

How else would I approach it other than a scientist?

Should I go about it like 90% of the people around here do and say "be open minded...it's the new time and age..being gay is so hip."

Look at the movie Bruno it's becoming the biggest hit movie in America. It's the "New" thing to do. It's the "New" funny and entertainment.

It's not funny and it's quite disturbing.

LMAO, Fistgate.

I tried to explain to him that fisting is not just a homosexual activity, but I couldnt give any real world examples to help him with his understanding given the T&C.
All I can say is that i am straight and that I have personal proof that this has happened between heterosexuals.

I know of other people, some friends of mine, who have experienced the same thing - and although we as humans don't have the answers sometimes (ok, alot of times), we still have to remember that God is in control of things.

I am sorry for your loss - and accept my deepest sympathies, please.

Personally? It is my belief that time now is short - and God is starting to take His children home - and the ones He takes early are the ones who He has special plans for.

There are some people that I'm sure He is taking home early so they won't have to suffer the end days. I'm betting your sister is one of those very people.

I'm glad to not normally be funny in your circle of experience.

And you still can't prove how gay could be normal.

Did everyone miss Fistgate?!! Back on the last page I think. I did some research.
-sorry haha had missed the people posting while I was typing

Oh.

Matthew Shepard is why I don't listen to people who generally dislike homosexuals.

*thumbs up*

Ok so I switched my wording from imbalance to difference. So what word would you prefer I use instead of the word normal (meaning the statistical term norm/normal)

lol no one here is "afraid" of gay people, silly.

I was a lesbian for 35 years - but finally got my eyeballs opened up about satan and how he can make things appear to be 'right' just so he can deceive you.

I was never afraid of me though.

Why do they deserve equal rights? Why should I have to share a locker room with a homosexual? Tell me that?

How about we promote mentally handicapped rights too. They're by definition less intelligent. Let's let them run the government. Oh wait...

This stuff is getting completely out of hand. I can't believe with everything going on in the world, at any given time I can come to ATS and see multiple threads about the gay subject.

Me too.

Normal simply means of the norm.
It is a statistical term meaning the majority of a certain thing have this characteristic. In this case heterosexuality being say +90% of the population, would make it the statistical norm by far.

And where does majority denote positive or negative?

Does a majority inclination suggest a static environment?

We aren't arguing the popularity of 'normal', really, we are discussing the relative denotions of positive and negative as ascertained by varying regional doctrines...which are inadequate since a negative perspective of diversity negates adequate collaborations and make moot the very doctrines that some opinions are based upon...

Seriously...your subjective perspective is but one...and is not shared globally one hundred percent.

I think you took the comment the wrong way. Heterosexuality is the most common form of sexual orientation. There has been research done on this topic many times over. This does not suggest that it is "the right approach" or "moral" it just means that for the majority of people on earth, they choose to have romantic relationships with members of the opposite sex.

So the issue at heart for people here is that the interests and needs of a minority group (homosexual individuals) are placed above the interests and needs of a majority (heterosexual individuals). Whenever this occurs you will see hostility pointed towards the minority.

I don't say this as to demonise or condemn homosexuals as a whole, just bringing forth what I feel is one of the key conflicts within this issue.

I still contend that normal is a subjective term and can be interpreted as negitive even when intended as an innocuous term...and there is nothing in the world that stipulates that any one way is the best and only way

I agree with you on this. The concept of good and bad is more subjective than people realise. I think it was Frederick Nietzsche who pioneered the idea that moral absolutes are really illusions, and morality is actually derived from the needs and desires of individuals and individual groups in a society.

The Shepherd story wass unfortunate but the boy was still living a sinful life. I know that's not what you want to hear but it's the truth.

I do feel for his family having to go through all of that though. And Etheridge coined a really awesome song about it.

You're kidding, right?

Well, why should I share my locker room with Christian Extremists and Ultra Conservatives?

They'll probably just all steal my iPod and rip apart my stuff.

They all watch Glenn Beck. Disgusting. I don't want someone like that sharing my locker room.

/sarcasm.

IT'S NOT OKAY TO BE LIKE THAT.

Bobby aren't you proving right there that common ordinary exposure won't make you gay if your not?

Obviously the sight of Bruno has the opposite effect on you

I mean seriously the cultural bombardment is annoying, I was watching Saturday night live and I was seriously repulsed... till SD informed me that it was the episode after the gay marriage ban that is... then I "got it"

But my reaction wasn't like... OMG they will make people Gay, it was just Saturday night live sucks tonight it's way too Gay for MY TASTES

But seriously, I do agree you can change your sexuality

IF YOU WANT TO

But it's like hypnosis it's only going to work to make you do what your willing to do...

You can't actually fear being turned Gay or any children who aren't Gay being turned?
