After having lurked on ATS for a number of years I'm now finally (and gladly) a member of such a prestigious community.
My main interests are UFOs and the ET hypothesis, esoteric beliefs and historical anomalies.
I hope to be able to discuss such topics further...

Dig a hole, the more nothing you add the bigger it gets.

The more you take, the more there is left over.

Almost a religious experience for you there.

Hi there.

The nearest thing to a real "nothing" must be a vacuum and, apparently, it is far from the abstract ideal of nothing...

I could say the same works in reverse, something can not be turned into nothing. Everything is caused and causing. Nothingness is something that cannot be caused, therefore it cannot exist.

Hi Daniem,

Thanks for your response. The thread title was only for ATS introduction purposes. However, the statement does have a certain philosophical impact.

In reverse, surely, something came from something?

It does indeed. But how do you choose to perceive the statement? To me, "nothing can come from nothing" means something very different than "something cannot come from nothing."

I perceive "nothing can come from nothing" to be a statement of something that is possible...not a statement of something that is not.
