I just saw this on Youtube. It dates back to 2002 and I know things have only gotten worse since then. Sorry if this has been posted before but this leave me speechless and with tears in my eyes. What have we become America?

I blame the media -- specifically the news.

I've never understood the purpose of these rallies, to be honest. Are they all part of a grass roots thing? If they are, that would explain why the govt is trying to beat them down. Grass roots movements = power taken from the politicians and given back to the people, which is where it belongs.

The media certainly plays their role. I wonder how much money to have to be paid to not report this? What kind of indoctrination do you have to receive to do this to the very people you were hired to protect? How cheap is your soul to piss on everything 3 of my grandparents fought against in WW2 and bring it home?

Incredibly sad.

I dont really see what the cops did that was wrong. This is not an example of a police state. In a police state they would have just started killing or injuring people.

I figured one of you would show up. I hope you next time you go to a demonstration to exercise your first amendment right you and/or your children don't get pepper sprayed, beat with a baton, or arrested for no reason and you can continue to be able to live in your happy world with out any of your constitutional rights being taken away.

Well if we start crap with the Police we deserve to get pepper sprayed or beaten. It is called crowd control. There are like 1 cop to 500 protestors. So you have to keep order or you are SOL.

The United States unbeknownst to the Kool Aide Drinkers and the Mortgage Strugglers has long been a fascist state.

The Corner Stones of a Fascist Sate are...

A Strong Military Inudstrial Complex (we have the most well trained and equiped military in the world)

A Strong Prison Industrial Complex (we have the largest prison complex in the world with more prisoners than any other nation on earth including China and most of them are there for questionable drug related crimes. By law they all have to work in prison and they churn out products bought by the states and federal government with tax payer dollars at inflate prices and all prison industries are by the way privately owned companies even though the vast majority of the prisons are county, state, and federal owned)

A Strong Security Industrial Complex (we have more law enforcement agencies than their are letters in the average gallon industrial sized can of alphabet soup, most Americans live in fear of police and domestic intellicence agencies)

The Last corner stone to a Fascist Government is a "Great Decider" with almost dictatorial powers because whether the congress loves or hates him at the end of the day few Presidential Bills are not voted into law, in fact hardly any)

Fascist States additionally own the corporations and the corporations own the State, the Banks, General Motors, just to name a few of the major industries, the defense contractors while not owned by the government have government oversight and the goverment is their number one consumer at inflated prices once again with tax payers dollars)

Of course all this nonsense costs a lot of money and the citizens are pretty much taxed in farious forms and levels into what really just constitutes America...

Welcome to America where you are free to lie to yourself about how free you are and change is on the way, while ignorning no matter what lying politician is in office its always change for the worse.

Yea, but the crowd didnt do anything

As a professional martial artist, its like if you get attacked you can defend yourself. There is very little ground for using your tools to attack without reason. They clearly had no reason. Police shenanigans.

I recently had a cop talk smack to me at a party, calling me tough guy. I'm sure my blackbelts would have shown him something, let alone me.

It'd be interesting of the situation ever came up to start taking the cops down at a riot, all teh grabs and twists and controls of various amrtial bring them to the ground and let the crown have at it. Not saying I want it to happen but theres only one cop I know that I wouldn't mess with, and ehs getting older now. Good to be in my prime training martial arts 5 hours a day.

This tells me to wear masks, change my shoes and clothes, and don't be afraid to disappear into the crowd. Well noted.

A warrior waits until the perfect time to pick his fruit.

You really should pay attention. You are being argumentative for the sake of argument. It's just kinda what you do. It is actually rather simple.

police state
Noun
a state in which a government controls people's freedom through the police

Do you work for the Portland Police Department? Whether you do or don't you should truly be ashamed of yourself and I suggest reading the constitution so you know where the hell you live.

Police state is definately coming

They use the camera footage to compile a list that will coincide with face recognition, and that will be on an international database.

They need to know who to round up for the concentration....err....FEMA camps during martial law

Your going to see ALOT worse once the food riots begin. Personally, i think what the police did in this case is great. Keep it comin... Keep videotaping it... As dumbed down and sheepish as most of the populace is they will only take so much. All its going to take is one death caused by the police.. and you will see rioting like you've never seen, remember France? You wont see people with signs behind a gate, you will see people dressed in armor wearing gas masks wielding Molotov's/home made explosives and rifles.

And that is EXACTLY what the PTB want, so they can do the big dirty and roll the APC's and active denial systems out. They are foaming at the mouth for this, and i think its about high time they did it. Bottom line is, we out number them... we drive the school buses we collect your mail we build your houses and we keep your system of # floating and bobbing in the grand golden toilette.

I was listening to a story on NPR the other day about a field trip of Chinese politicians, mayors and such who came to see democracy at work. They watched a community gathering over legislation and saw a citizen get up and start berating the officials and the person was furious. (think it was about land developement)
and the chinese officials started muttering among themselves and asking, Is he actually mad? Is he showing anger? Is he actually yelling at them?
They couldn't believe it. Never in China would you be able to show somethign like that to a public official of any kind.

NOW THAT, is a police state.

I recall seeing these videos some time ago, shortly after it occurred. It's no less shocking and rage inducing now. I mean it, this really gets my ire up.

Based on experience, typically the younger the officer, the more likely to be the type(s) in this video. It seems the more experienced and seasoned among the ranks only "bust heads" when it's actually warranted, i.e. not too often.

I'm sure the ones with the attitude problems will get what's coming to them, very soon.

I'm equally sure the ones with their "heads on straight" will be among those doling out the just desserts.

I'm starting to learn not to paint with too broad a brush...

Seriously? The people were peacefull. What excuse do they have for breaking up the protest? One of these days the police will do this to a very organized protest that has security. It will get real ugly real fast.
