Flight of the Navigator was an interesting movie. I remember hearing rumors it was based on a true story, (same kind of rumors that came in the wake
of E.T.), and interestingly enough, one of the writers (Burton, I believe, not Tim), did only one other thing, and it was a tv movie about a spy,
Aldrich Ames.
Of course, there's no real evidence to suggest it is based on an actual case (Navigator, or E.T.)
What's interesting about it, is that many of the claims from some of those who claimed to have seen the interior of such ships, are reflected in this
movie's craft.
1. Shape-changing ability
2. Absence of seams
3. Silvery color
4. Solid windows on outside, can see through on inside, more like wall tv
5. Shape of the piloting chair
6. The "liquification" effect for the door
7. The antigravity effect even when "parked"
8. The fast movement
9. Even undersea operation capability
