Billions in aid go to areas that backed Obama in '08

www.usatoday.com

WASHINGTON — Billions of dollars in federal aid delivered directly to the local level to help revive the economy have gone overwhelmingly to places that supported President Obama in last year's presidential election.

This has already been known by those of us paying attention, but it's interesting that a main stream source points this out. There has been so much protection offered from the MSM the past 2 years.

Gibbs recently said, "There's no politics at work when it comes to spending for the recovery," when there is proof showing otherwise. I still find it amazing how this administration talks out both sides of their mouth.....constantly. They must be banking on Obama's charisma to overshadow the double speak and obvious lies.

Nice work on posting this. I agree... The administration has said that they will be bipartisan, look out for the well being of ALL Americans and have a policy of transparency. This has not happened. It seems that their strategy is to "pat the child on the head while they steal their candy." These supporters may think that they are getting help from Obama, or payback for their support, but really he is just keeping them complacent while taxing all of us under the table with schemes like universal healthcare and cap and trade.

Keep posting things like this, we need to be the lighthouse in the four year storm that will be the Obama Whitehouse.

What needs to be kept in perspective, though, is that congress is also largely democrat. The folks who voted for Obama were probably the same ones who voted for their democratic Rep and/or Senator. As such, those lawmakers seek to put earmarks into bills to get extra funding to their constituents. It's a lot easier for the majority party to get away with this than it is the minority. If we (God willing) have a republican majority next term, these figures will probably change dramatically.

Duh! how does everyone think that he got elected NOT to set aside his own cash? Ha! Real Conspiracy- Obama printed up"stimulus" money to set aside for future Mis-Haps, not the economy".

If they needed that money so fast and in a hurry, they should have just dumped it all over the towns and said "here you go, have fun" like the joker1 would have. But no, they are instead like joker 2,sitting on top of it and burning it.

I don't think God Is going to look to favorably on the GOP after 8 years of President "Let's torture them" Cheney.

are there really people naive enough that an elected official will not be in someway favorable towards certain stuff/issues/people who supported him at the first place?

um, that's probably because poor people and minority communities would naturally vote democrat. lol

Haha, go figure.. still nothing my region, which is overwhelmingly Socialist.. I keep telling people, it doesn't matter, you have 7 electoral votes, no one gives a damn. Regardless, he's still been elevated to Deity out here.

If you read the whole article though, it says:

Investigators who track the stimulus are skeptical that political considerations could be at work. The imbalance is so pronounced — and the aid so far from complete — that it would be almost inconceivable for it to be the result of political tinkering, says Adam Hughes, the director of federal fiscal policy for the non-profit OMB Watch. "Even if they wanted to, I don't think the administration has enough people in place yet to actually do that," he says.

As much as I would love to pin this on Obama, I just can't. Did you notice, in the article,

The imbalance didn't start with the stimulus. From 2005 through 2007, the counties that later voted for Obama collected about 50% more government aid than those that supported McCain, according to spending reports from the U.S. Census Bureau.

This means (to me at least) that the counties receiving the over proportionate share of the stimulus are... largely democrats. And democrats were the ones that voted Obama into office.

What's that old saying? Goes something like this: Don't s**t where you eat! At worst, this is no different than ANY OTHER politician has/is/will done. Is it right? No. Is this the way of life? Yes.

Just my 2-cents

And I suppose you think "lets exterminate 50 million unborn children on the alter of choice" liberals are looked at favorably by God?

Christ’s crucifixion was planned by God himself. Stop politicizing it and using it as a punch line, liberal!

On topic: It's not surprising that der fuehrer would allocate more money to those who put him in office. This scumbag is the most corrupt we've ever had in the white house.

The political games play has not changed. Only the players who are getting the payoff money. Politics Chicago style. Well at least they are not getting a couple hundred billion dollars to give dirty water to our troops overseas.

When will Americans tire of this and wake up? The game goes on regardless of whether it is Republicans or Democrats in power. We need to clean house and get rid of them all. This is very important. Our future is at stake.

eh, truly disgusting. Hell,if the msm is covering it it just means it's no longer fringe but offically offical.

I wonder how much of that bailout those western states would get that voted mccain will get? So lemme see if i get this straight..the gov borrows the money from the federal reserve..the tax payer pays for it through various taxes..only to have you dictate who gets what?

*sighs*

Oh well, that's excatly why we can keep and bear arms. Go NRA!

Your assertion is that only liberals get abortions sire, gods relationship with each man is personal as gods instruments decide the validity of a humans existence, unless you are god posing as an fanatic.

W, rewarded his buddies in big oil, energy and defense (who funded his campaigns) by falsifying intelligence, starting an endless +1,000,000,000,000 war, invading a foreign nation, sending our troops into peril and MANIPULATIVELY lying to the entire nation.

I would say your judgement on the matter of most corrupt is not of any consequence
CONSERVATIVE!

the history books will show as such, SORRY.

CONSERVATIVE

My first thought was S.O.S. different day but..wasn't this money supposed to be thrown at 'shovel ready projects" already in the pipeline? From all I can read it's going to things like 'turtle tunnels' and other nonsensical projects that do nothing to stimulate our depressing economy. It's not where it's going, it's what the idiots are using it for that bothers me so much!

To be fair, he said "a republican", not the Lord of the evil Empire.

Yes, there's still a difference. And it's not the color of the light saber.
