A swimming club in suburban Philadelphia called the police on a Fox television crew attempting to report on allegations the club had rejected inner-city children because of the color of their skin.

More than 60 children enrolled in day-care in the basement of a Northeast Philadelphia elementary school were told to pack up and not return, after the Valley Swim Club in Montgomery County accused them of changing the “complexion” and “atmosphere” of the club.

Most of the children enrolled in the day care are black or Hispanic.

Is it 2009 or the 1960's? I am not black, Jewish, Oriental, or whatever but I am American! And I can't believe (not surprised) that this kind of discrimination is out there but worse, this club thinks it's going to get away with it. They probably will and that is another sign of how WRONG things simply are with our society! Grr.

You are so correct, I've never lived in PA. I understand your post and I am blind or ignorant when I say "PA" is in America and this should not be the way it is any where in America period. I know it goes on but I'll say what isn't being said "it isn't right" just because it goes on. I hope Carma gets it's shot at this Club!

When Fox’s Philadelphia affiliate showed up at the club, “we were ordered off, we were told it’s a private club and we’re not welcome,” Fox reporter Claudia Gomez said.

It is a private club. FOX was trespassing and was asked to leave. When they refused, the police were called. Makes sense to me.

Just my 2-cents

I performed a search prior to posting my thread first off. My headline is not the same and lastly my thread is an updated version of the thread so know that before posting blindly...

No doubt "Aggie" it is a private club... It's a fact that they also accepted payment for daycare to use the pool at this private club which made them members so a law suit will be filed and won as they were not simply invited guest of the club... But nice post.
