Just throwing this out there

The growing earth theory (video)

www.nealadams.com...

Because you just never know

Pretty much explains it for me. If our planet went through drastic changes before, why not continue?

Well, it is continuing.

This sounds like a post-glacial uplift episode. A similar event happened in Scandinavia aswell as the UK only a few years ago where land uplifted due to the fact tension from millions of tonnes of Ice from millions of years ago was gradually released as the land subdued to its origional state.
This doesnt explain how the Alaskan uplift was formed without any resulting quakes but my personal theory is that it was a gradual 2 day process in which noone noticed, and that the sea/sand acted as a shock absorber and absorbing any small ground-related quakes that occured (we'd only be talking mag 1-2 at most.)

So according to the growing Earth theory, our planet is simply a kernel of popcorn?

Loved the video. Makes sense on the "surface", pun intended.

cool video.
I saw it before but totally dismissed it, now its quite interesting.

But I have a question about this theory, what about mountains?
I was told that the mountains formed when plates crashed together and since then have been shrinking due to erosion.
If the plates never crashed into eachother but simply spread apart as the earth grew, then wouldnt erosion have caused the demise of the mountains?

The whole tree thing they mention in the video would make sense with the theory we use now as well.

so far my favorite theory is the Chuck Norris push-up theory here.

really it makes the most sense.

When something unusual like this happens I look to see if something occured in the opposite of said location.

The opposite of Bluff Point, Alaska is Southern Ocean about half way between Southern Africa and Antarctica

I will keep an eye on this location you can also check locations at:

Maybe Terra just had a bit of gas after a big lunch?

could be volcanoes, underground pockets of lava pushing the rock upwards, minerals causing reactions, meteorite hits, etc

too many possibilities, not enough investigation

warrenb,

I agree with you it needs investigation and we should all keeps our eyes on this.

Questioning,

There is an oddity in history with surface rupturing with a very small quake. The 3.6 March 4th 1966 earthquake in the imperial fault zone caused a surface rupture ~10km and with an offset of 1.5 centimeters.

For a magnitude 3.6 quake, that's amazing. Later the 1975 Brawley quake swarm in that same fault zone produced surface ruptures as well.

Not saying that is what happened here, as that uplift is rather large, but the potential does exist to cause uplift even from small quakes. Perhaps the swarms the locals were feeling was the uplift of this block.

The question still remains what caused it.

NASA Details Earthquake Effects on the Earth

NASA scientists using data from the Indonesian earthquake calculated it affected Earth's rotation, decreased the length of day, slightly changed the planet's shape, and shifted the North Pole by centimeters. The earthquake that created the huge tsunami also changed the Earth's rotation.

They also found the earthquake decreased the length of day by 2.68 microseconds. Physically this is like a spinning skater drawing arms closer to the body resulting in a faster spin. The quake also affected the Earth's shape. They found Earth's oblateness (flattening on the top and bulging at the equator) decreased by a small amount. It decreased about one part in 10 billion, continuing the trend of earthquakes making Earth less oblate.

maybe just maybe this is an after effect of that .. as it effected the world as a whole .. dunno just my thoughts ..

So maybe it *is* like a tire ripping itself apart due to a structural weakness and the centrifugal force caused by the rotation makes those uneven lumps extrude?

The Web bot or ALTA reports, predicted a global coastal phenomena starting in the summer of 2009. This i'm sure is what the ALTA report was referring to! Listen t Clif High on youtube or buy the ALTA reports yourself at halfpasthuman.com

errr, what? a black hole in the centre of the Earth? Wow, I've never heard that one before! So how is the Earth itself not being pulled in? Why would the Earth expand in such a situation? Where is the massive gravitational field which would be produced by definition If there was a black hole present? The expanding Earth theory in itself is attractive in some respects but In my opinion, what you're suggesting is ridiculous!

Although I don't agree with the statement it is very possible just not likely by the evidence.

After all gravity could be a direct result of a small black hole (very small). It would explain just as much as it would raise questions and our understanding of it.

I'm guessing you are thinking on a much grander scale such as the black holes we see in space.

The hollow earth thing does have some decent math/physics to back up the idea although I'm not yet sold on it either.

We are too primitive to really make an educated guess on it as it is now it's just 50/50 chance as it is or isn't. Humans haven't existed long enough to know anything for sure or at least not that the general public has been made aware of.

Good find questioningall, star for you! I think the Bible says something about in the end times things like this will happen all over the world. I will have to research it anyone else know what I am talking about?

I think the logical reason is an air/gas pocket. Nibiru...uhhhhhhhh....eeeeeeeeehhhhhh.....ahhhhhhh... Nope, I'm not buying it. I don't believe in Nibiru's destruction, but that's just me

So, I think the gas/air pocket is more than logical and fits in everyway. It even fits the earth's growing theory, because, if the world grows it's going to release trapped gases/water/steam...Is steam a gas? I know it's water:| Who cares, you get it.

Oh, this growing earth would also explain why it happened now. The earth grew and it just so happened the pocket had enough of a chance to escape. You know, it's like, they drill Alaska for oil all the time, right? Well, anyone who knows oil, knows that when you're drilling you sometimes, well alot of the time, encounter gas. Sometimes dangerous gas, sometimes harmless. Maybe there was just a huge gas pocket that was released, maybe a few got triggered at once by a certain placed pocket. Who knows? Let's just hope we dont have them around highly populated areas, that thing looks like it could topple a building like Siers Towers easy, while still taking out so many more buildings around it, with ease.
