I don't buy any of the 'special kids' theory and have seen absolutely nothing to support it, other than it appears to have taken on a life of its own in some fora, supported of course by those with a vested interest (ego?)

In fact, what is being noticed (and increasingly commented upon) is the sub-standard type kids being produced these days. They lack the traditional 'baby' charm. They look like nasty old people in baby/toddler bodies. Gone are the large eyes, the sweet baby smiles and behaviours. Instead, this new breed of alarming children are small-eyed with sunken faces, nasty dispositions. They seem to be prone to an assortment of 'conditions' ranging from chronic night-terrors which go on for months, even years, to all the alphabet conditions said to require healthy doses of chemicals spewed forth by Big Pharma.

Drug-taking parents the cause? Who knows. But it's becoming more rare (and appreciated) these days to see 'normal' looking and behaving babies.

As for the all the 'indigos', 'crystals' etc. -- nope. Wishful thinking. Not happening, apart from on internet and forums which profit from encouraging people to believe they're special and different

star flag, and a 'bump' to the top of the list. I think this world has special people in it, and they've been here quietly, ***respectfully****, humble, polite, and without illusions of grandure.....for a very long time.

It blows me away these people on the Internet, and in person cr*pping all over everyone because their "special"........ Those sites you listed give the "special" people the greenlight on obnoxious behavior.

Excellent points! Star for you. That is something I have never thought about really. But, I think you might be right. With the increased drug use as the years go by, our offspring are changing that is for sure. But not for the better.

I would refer all you guys to check out door number two in a little project I have going on. Behind door number two you will find Timmy. The very thing you guys are talking about bought to life. I seriously am not trying to divert attention from this important thread but I cannot help myself. I know you will find it amusing. The thread is here. Only when you have a chance. I used this thread in creating him. Oh, he is charming. Just like you would expect.

I would expect nothing less lol. I liked his firecracker in his mothers mouth. That was horrible. I don't know of any kids who have actually done that, but it gives the idea of how degenerate these new aged "Special" kids really are.

You are right that is why I will not treat her any different, but the discovery of her being indigo was not by her diet but when i had her astrology charts done, the astrologer surprised me when he told me .
To the other people about the indigos my daughter can't take any medicine other then herbal or compounded vitamins she can't have antibiotics only if she is under the supervision of the hospital, and for a mother i am educating myself in nutrition and western herbal medicine because i cant go to the doctors or pharmacy and get any kind of drug, and she has big brown eyes (it runs in the family) even certain fruits and vegetables are practicly classed as a drug (well you could put it that way ) she has terrible nightmares at night she is not a brat in fact she is quite shy but very loving.
I am not angry at all by what people say i was like that too just wanted to give a little insight that they are not all like that Parents play an important role in all lives of the children and the news and people around them i do alot of explaining to my children they may not understand if they keep asking ? 's i just give them the answers or my bestlol (some things can't b answered).
I have seen some terrible kids but I still give them love because maybe thats what they have been missing.

Hello, Id like to ask you a few questions if you dont mind.
- To you, what exactly is an Indigo and how are they different than anyone else?
- You decided that your daughter is one because she can't take medicine?
- What happens when your daughter does take traditional western medicine?
- Do you believe that your daughter has special ability that others do not possess? If so, what are they?
- Where did you first learn about Indigo people?

I will say that it is a good thing your daughter cannot take any regular pharmaceuticals. Indigo or not, special or not. Big Pharm has polluted our bodies for decades and it only gets worse as the years go by.

If you had read properly I said it was not her special diet that I had found out it was from her astrology charts where the astrologer had told me, and from there on i have been reading alot about it.
I don't know what makes me beleive I did not want to sound like a weirdo but out of all my kids i look at her and its like she can read me like a book maybe we are connected somehow not sure. Some times as a mother or anyone you just get that gut feeling skeptic or not trust me i laughed at people like me 2-3 yrs ago and trust me there is not anything so spectacular that is different about her But she always did felt different to me but i ignored it, now i take what people say good bad we all have our opinions but some times you just know.

When she has nurophen it makes it worse she also gets bloated swelling and hives also she cant have dairy or wheat these two are the highest her skin breaks and starts to bleed, its all about trial and error she may grow out of it may not she gets severe bronchialitis constipation effects her moods when a reaction is not too severe you see her capilaries thru her skin its like they are about to pop and always a snotty nose.
On the bright she has been taking vitamin c for a month now and her body does not react to it I am hoping by next year she wont have to have her special formula as well
You know some things dnt have answers i keep trying to find them and i dont think i will stop I cant tell people what to do but i can guide them to the way i think is best and then it is up to that individual to choose.

To the OP:

There is a huge difference between coming together in a common bond and proclaiming "special gifts" and some "amazing worldly purpose". I know exactly where you are going with this thread and I agree with you completely.

No one, child, teen or adult, should be excused from their behavior because of outlandish proclamations made by themselves or someone else on their behalf. That is all a complete crock of BS. No one should ever be considered 'special' in that sense.

I truly believe labels being tossed around in todays society are monumentally detrimental, particularly to children. Humility is not nearly as abundant as it used to be, that is something that really must change in order for everyone to maintain some asemblence of clear headed rationality. It started with all the different psycho-social crap: ADD, ADHD, etc. There were always these type of children in existence. We just called them hyper-active or (a pain in the rear
). Then the new-agers hopped on board and figured their kids had something going on too, but it hadddddd to be of the spiritual realm, etc, etc. It goes on and on.

The whole practice of having to identify behaviors, rationalize and treat these so-called anamolies, has really spiralled out of control IMHO. Not everything has a definitive answer, nor should it be treated as some extraordinary occurence. What exists now has always been. It's our societal perception that has changed, and for the worse.

That being said, I am a believer in "gifts" but not in the way we see it presented around here (in many cases). There are people that have unusual abilities. That doesn't make them better or deserving of extra privilege. It simply makes their attributes different. In a publicized system, everyone has to be treated with equality for it to work. People with genuine special needs should be integrated in a specified manner, conducive to their individual situation.

Our society, the government and the media has made it acceptable for everyone to rely on a cornucopia of excuses. The USA in particular pertpetuates it. This was the beginning of the breakdown of inner society as far as I see it.

Most definitely. Why aren't the disabled kids praised more often on sites like ATS? Why is it the rich, spoiled, bratty suburban kids are the ones that get praised? Hmm....I think I know what my next thread will be about now.

this is exactly what should be talked about more often than not.

so many people are suffering.. and then these little charlatans go off and say they're the ones more evolved.. and describe themselves as having completely repulsive personality traits, values etc..

if i were in charge of the "gifting" of ability above and beyond those we see now.. i'd give it to the poor kids in the children's cancer center or the moaning and groaning poor zombie-like kids who have been cursed with autism.

why?
because these kids or their parents who boast about being the "ones" .. don't really seem to show any sort of humility or reserve in caring for others.. or at least understanding what suffering can be like..

and what a waste... giving amazing powers to people who couldn't care less about others who suffer.. or dont' even know about them.

those powers should be used to help others.

in any case... if we DO see people having incredible powers emerge in the population.. i bet they have gone through a long long suffering transformative phase... where they're ridiculed and put through every sort of emotional/psychological confoundation possible.

i don't see this "Change" into higher beings be any sort of prettiness.. i see it as definately a soul-challenging ugliness that needs to pass before the beauty can be seen.

people WANT it so bad.. their greed paints this pretty picture of happy suburban kids flipping on a light and having special powers...

bunch of BS.

i bet the ones with powers will have gone hungry.. come from poverty (albeit possibly temporary poverty) and a neglectful medical system.

it's not gonna be blessed upon ignorant greedy me-first types.

I agree completely, and I'm someone who apparently completely fits the definition of a late-20's "Indigo" (once you filter out the noise and nonsense out there). One of the more reasonable "Indigo" definitions I read was disturbingly detailed and accurate for me, and it really wasn't anything to brag about... It's not a glamorous thing, it's a difficult thing. No one is born better or more important than another. Just as everyone has their own set of problems to overcome in life, they have their own set of strengths and abilities. And every spiritual gift is also it's own curse.

There are wildly varying definitions of what all these New Age terms mean, and it seems that quite a number of them are just poor attempts to explain or justify otherwise unacceptable behavior, as well as people who want to believe that they (or their children) are special or part of something. People are just people, don't give them any special treatment. If they're really so super-human, they would have some humility.

Exactly. That is part of the point of this thread. If someone is so special, it would be in THEIR best interest not to tote it around and pretend they are so much better than everyone else.
