With this pressure and density...

Will I be able to see the borialis(spelling?) in the North UK?

It's not pressure which creates aurora. It doesn't look like you have much chance.

Here is a good link for you:

This web site allows you to monitor geomagnetic activity in real time, and will let you know when aurora may be visible from the UK.

Int the first pic top left,,,, why are the red and blue lines crossing each other instead of flaring up like some of the other pics? Is that an indication of the poles flipping or getting ready to flip?

this thing is a major x class right now!!!!! looks like the magnetosphere is holding on pretty good.. but if you look its getting close to the earth and the plasma tail is burning up behind it. lets hope it keeps takin this beating or we will be in some major trouble.

Well...I don't usually keep track of the sun or anything like that so these charts don't really make sense to me. I don't know the difference between normal, and abnormal...so in words...what's up? Is this why I've been fighting a head ache the past two days? just curious..I rarely get head aches like this.

no not at all.. if you look at the graph to the top right you see in front of the earth if that touches the earth in the graph that means it penatrated the magnetosphere and its gonna start fryin stuff.. one good thing im noticing is its not very dense.. kind of like a sand storm with heavy winds but not much sand.

You have it reversed. The speed is low but the density is high. Its a lot of sand being tossed gently.

It should be noted that the pressure scale tops out at 3.6 nPa. Pressures of 5 nPa are not unusual. As cool (or scary, depending on your point of view) as the pressure display looks right now, this is not a major event.

This was a major event.

my bad...your right(of course) the way the surface is heating up i have a bad feeling the velosity will pick up...i think it is causing the crazy weather staring to happen right now.

Well...I hope it's NOT a major event...I'm not fond of those lately.

I have also had a headache, which is very unsusual for me, could that be from the solar activity?

know way to know forsure.. but not much is hitting the earth if any right now. most of it is being deflected.

How about 9 or 10 nPa (which is where we are at now)??

Even in the solar storm examples which they show on the site:

www.swpc.noaa.gov...
www.swpc.noaa.gov...

the Pressure is topping out at where we are right now....Except we are not having a solar storm right now...

I don't understand. Why's the pressure remaining so high right now?
