Wait... so now we've moved on to global warming and GE being behind all this?? lol!

What happened to the crop circles idea? Cause I don't see the part where NBC or GE or any movie company is advertising the crop circles in relation to the movie. Could you please provide that link? Most people still don't even know what 'Knowing' is about.

Stereo ~ I'm fully behind you on the idea of new strategies in marketing. Really I am. But what people here are trying to point out is that crop circles are really weak for advertising unless you at least have something suggestive about the movie imprinted with it. Especially when it's surrounded by dozens of other crop circles that carry many different meanings. If this was your crop circle for advertising, wouldn't you want to put it someplace where it would stand out more and really get attention?

The image needs to 'click' with people... suggesting the movie. A jellyfish in the middle of a farmer's field doesn't click with the movie. And having (or even paying) a site to suggest the idea of a solar flare is still far from enough media attention that's needed to sell a dvd. The few people who were anticipating this event are already moving on to other theories.

Your idea is really cute, and I admire you for standing with your suggestion. It's been an interesting read.

(Forgot to mention... when the Blossom Goodchild event didn't happen, it just ended up being a disappointment and a blame game. People were too busy arguing to think about Indiana Jones... same problem might be happening now as well.)

It's funny that you mention the movie, knowing. I got it from Netflix today and watched it. The suckage was great with this one!

I went to rottentomatoes.com and it mainly had really bad reviews. It did, however, make 80,000,000 at the box office, proving that Nick can draw a crowd, no matter the subject.

It was highly contrived and full of BS.

It is, however, much better than Battlefield Earth and the Spirit. So that says something. It's not the worst movie in the world, by no means.

Is it based on reality? I don't know - but I certainly hope not.

Why all the flames against "Knowing" I've seen over a thousand movies, and i consider myself having pretty good taste. It wasn't a bad movie, I thought the presence of aliens at the end would actually please ATS'ers. So far all i've heard is people saying it's bad with nothing really backing that up... Contrived?

Contrived for what? The purpose of showing us the existence of benevolent ET's? So what at least that's what it was contrived for...not some political propoganda.
