What is this thing?! A UFO?

While treating a case of insomnia, I was searching through Google and stumbled across some interesting pictures to say the least. Let me start by stating that I have never had a personal UFO sighting nor am I camera savvy. That being said, I cannot make a fair judgment about the following pictures.

These images are a night time view of the Twin Towers after the attacks. I am very curious as to what in the heck is the multicolored line (for lack of a better description) in the frames? Is this simply a camera issue or something more 'out of this world'?












Any thoughts would be appreciated. Especially from someone considered 'camera savvy'.

Yep, it's a long exposure shot of some sort of aircraft, I assume it must be some sort of military craft since all aircraft were grounded, or was it just commercial aircraft grounded?
