Mountaineers are Always Free!!!

I was raised in Wild Wonderful West Virginia and was wondering if there are any other members from the Mountaineer State on here.

I go back every once in awhile to visit, but I had to move as you just can't make a decent living there anymore. At least I could not...

There is something special about those mountains. Geologists say they are some of the oldest mountains and used to rival the Himalayas in size.

I know that when I have been gone from them for a long time, I begin to miss them so badly it hurts. I spent a number of years traveling overseas and I remember thinking about my mountains the entire time.

So, who is from West Virginia and wants to talk?

I'm not from West Virginia, but I grew up in a mountainous state.

Do I really have to say where exactly in West "By Gawd" Virginia I am from? I'll just say that I am from deep within the nooks and crannies of the Kanawha Valley.

I've travelled through most parts of WVa.

Very beautiful country, however when the people start coming out, I floor it and get the heck outta there... :shk:

I'm in West Virginia. I've always lived on the Ohio border though.

I could never imagine living somewhere flat. The skyline just seems so empty without rolling mountains.

There is just something magical about these mountains..
